TCP Tuesday #374: TAG It!

Hello there it's the start of a new TCP Tuesday challenge and we're getting all excited about the TAGS!  Here's your chance to get crackin' on those gift tags...or possibly create some tags that you can tuck goodies and gift cards inside!  That's what I'm sharing today!

Make sure to join the fun and play along with our fun Tag challenge.  Just create a tag- any tag, and post your creation on our blog post here.  We'll select a lucky crafter to win a special TCP Prize...That's it.. It's that EASY!

My tag is a fun little envelope tag that you can tuck a little gift card or perhaps a little moolah inside!  To make this type of tag card, all you have to do is fold an envelope and decorate the front side.  Trim the edges to make the card into a tag shape, punch a hole and thread some ribbon, twine or seam binding through the hole.

I stamped the cute "Roll With It" set and colored with Copic markers then diecut the fun Farm Duo die using brown cardstock and using some polkadot paper from my stash.  I then assembled everthing to the top of the folded kraft envelope then trimmed the corners to make a tag shape.  I tied some  black seam binding on the envelope to secure the card/tag closed and then mounted the elements onto the card.
So fun, so simple and so handy!  Now I have a sweet little tag to send to a loved one with a special gift card tucked inside.

Thanks for hopping over!  I hope my project inspires you to create something fun and useful!

TCP Tuesday # 372: Animals!

Hello there crafty friends! Today I'm joining my fellow Cat Pack teamies as we share inspiration to kick-off the new TCP Tuesday Challenge:  ANIMALS!  TCP has a TON of adorable animal sets so it was quite a challenge to narrow it down.  I decided to go with this adorable sea-life set complete with cute seahorses, whales, crabby critters, snail characters and of course, mermaids!  Hey Gillfriend is a sweet set, dontcha think?!
I started out by stamping the watercolor background using the waves in the set.  I added Tombow watercolor markers directly to the stamp and added some water to mute it down.  After that, I stamped the seahorses, shell creature and the mermaid and then colored them with watercolor pencils.  I fussy cut each image and attached it to the watercolor panel.  I also created a colorful paper pattern to allow for my Wave CutUps to really make waves.

I mounted the panel onto a seafoam green panel and then stamped more waves (and splattered too) onto the card base.  So fun!
Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope this card inspires you to grab some critter stamps and play along with us this month!  Hop over to the TCP Blog and join the fun!  You just might be the lucky winner to win a $50 voucher to the shop!

TCP Tuesday #371: Slimline!

Hello there inky friends!  It's TCP Tuesday at The Cat's Pajamas and this round is all about those SLIMLINES!  I wanted to play along but since I don't really care for the size of standard slimline cards, I decided to create a different version of the slimline.  I call it the "REVERSE SLIMLINE".  What makes it a reverse slimline? You may ask.  Well, a reverse slimline (I think it's my invention ha ha) is a card that can fit perfectly in an old school standard sized envelope.  It's SLIM and non-standard A2...Like Slimline cards for many, THIS size has been addictive for me!
I decided to create a back to school themed card that I'm going to send to one of my teammates.  Although we're not teaching IN School for the first quarter because of COVID precautions, we are still working together to plan and get things perfectly set for what will be an interesting and challenging new year.

To create my card, I pulled the fun  Skinny Alphabet Stencilz and inked it up with black ink onto a piece of white cardstock.  I then flicked a bit of black acrylic paint on it as well as rubbed a bit of ink along the outer edges.  Next, I attached it to some red cardstock and tied a bit of black twine around the card.  I also attached a button.  After that, I diecut a Toppers CutUps punched paper edge using light blue cardstock and then tucked that under the ribbon.  I stamped and colored the car from the new Beary Christmas Set and fussy cut it to remove the presents.  This image reminds me of the hours and hours of commuting time we won't have to do now that we're working/teaching from home.

There you have it...a fun little reverse slimline card for my teamie...

Won't you join the fun and play along with our TCP Tuesday challenge?  You aren't required to use any TCP products so please consider playing along with us!

TCP Tuesday #368: Everyday Heroes!

Hey there inky friends!  It's TCP Tuesday at The Cat's Pajamas and that means it's the beginning of a brand new challenge!  We're saluting all those everyday heroes that do so much yet get sooo little props!   TCP is also revealing the very FIRST Digi set!  This set is called. "Everyday Heroes" and it's absolutely FREE!

As with every challenge, we challenge YOU to play along and create something fabulous and geared towards the theme.  You can use any stamp sets from any manufacturer so won't you come join the fun and play along?  Share a picture of your creation HERE.

I created my card by merging a few of the cutest images in the free digi set as well as snipping a few words here and there from the message included in the READ ME section of the digi zip file.  The colors?  Yep, I chose to grab the iconic TCP colors of hot pink and sunshine yellow.  :).

I colored up the image using a little blue ink and then I mounted it with foam squares onto the folded panel.  Since LONG cards are so trendy, the scene I created worked perfectly on a long card.
I also added a little message on the inside of my card...Just a little hint.

TCP Tuesday Reminder...# Send Hope

Hey peeps!  I hope you're doing well and are safe and sound at home.  I'm working through a bad back issue now on day 6.  I can't sit for long without spasms and pain so I'll keep this quick!

Today is our REMINDER day for TCP Tuesday! This month's challenge is to make AND SEND something that Shares HOPE!

I created little bookmarks for my students...Just a little fun "I MISS YOU".  I used two stamp sets for this project:  "Jungle Boogie" and the sentiment set "Simply Said".  I mounted everything onto black cardstock and then onto lime green cardstock so I can write a little message on it -before laminating it.

Make sure to hop over to the TCP Blog HERE.  To check out all the inspiration and share your creation HERE too!  Remember, you don't have to use TCP stamps or products and the winner gets 50 bucks to spend in the shop!  SO get crackin'!

The Cat's Pajamas TCP Tuesday Reminder: #366 Furry Animals

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm sharing a cute little furry friend card to help remind you that this month's TCP Tuesday challenge is on and running and you have the opportunity to join in and play along!  It's TCP Tuesday #366 and it's all about FURRY FRIENDS!
My nickname is Kerbear and I have a thing for BEARS.  In fact, I collect them.  All sizes, all colors all designs...INCLUDING STAMPS!  This bear image is a favorite and I knew I was going to make him come to life for this challenge.  I selected "Bearing Flowers" for this challenge and decided to change up the colors a bit and be a little non-traditional with the cute bear.  Since he was holding a gorgeous sunflower, the bear's color was inspired by that.  A pop of aqua...for fun.
Isn't he cute?!  I used a mix of Copics and colored pencils to make this little cutie come to life.  After coloring. I fussy cut the image and then diecut the "Rectangular Stamp Duo" die to create a nice foundation for the bear to be placed upon.
I stamped the sentiment and cut it into a banner to overlay slightly over the image.  I didn't want to cover him up too much but this placement seemed to be the perfect location for the sentiment.
Thanks so much for hopping over to check out my furry card.  I hope it inspires you to create something furry and I can't wait to see your creation.  Remember, you don't have to use TCP stamps for the challenge...Just make sure to share your creation on the TCP Blog page HERE.  You'll have a chance to win a FAB prize from TCP.  Good Luck!

TCP Tuesday Reminder: FALL!

Hello there inky friends!  I'm back to remind you that the TCP Tuesday Challenge is in FULL SWING!  Join us in celebrating all things FALL by creating a card and joining the challenge!  Check it out HERE.  No need to create something with TCP stamps but we would LOVE to see your TCP creations too!  This challenge runs throughout the month and the winner will be announced at the beginning of next month's challenge.  Join the fun, won't you?!
I created this fun fall card using the newest stencils at TCP.  Check out the Birch Trees Duo Stencilz!  I used them to create this totally delish fall scene and also added the sentiment from the May The Forest Be With You stamp set.
After stenciling was complete, I added a few splatters of black acrylic ink to give some depth to my creation.  I added the sentiment using some foam squares.
There was no need for ribbon or twine on this card as I thought the stenciling was just enough to make this card pop!  And bonus!  No extra stamps on the envie when I send it off in the mail!  WOOP!

Thanks for hopping over to check out my card.  I hope it inspires you to create something FALL-ish!

TCP Tuesday #361 Layer Up!!

Hey there crafty peeps!   I'm joining my fellow Cat Packers as we begin a new TCP Tuesday Challenge!  This month, our challenge is all about LAYERS.  So come on, Layer it up!  Join the fun and play along.  You have the whole month to join in on the fun for your chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the TCP store.  Just make sure to post a project to our blog post.  Don't have any TCP products YET, no problem!  Our challenge is open to all designs.

I played the Layer It challenge with my diecut image- I layered the color, the paper, the paint and the embellies.  Can you spy all those layers?  The die "Snowglobe Duo Die" is a perfect die for layering.  I started out by diecutting the snowglobe image and then used some Leisure Art waterbased markers to create a watercolor background on a piece of cardstock that would be placed behind the diecut.  After watercoloring, I layered that panel, the diecut and the framed portion of the die (I trimmed it to create a stand-alone frame).

After assembling the "snowglobe", I started working on the fun wintery background.  I used my Gel Press and pressed some white pigment ink onto the plate.  Next, I used the snowflake dies to press into the ink-onto the Gelli Plate- to create a muted snowflake background.  After that, I peeled the teal panel off the Gelli Plate and flicked white acrylic paint and sparkly ink onto the panel.
To finish my card off, I added some fun iridescent sequins onto the panel and mounted this snowy scene onto a white card base. I added some winter snowflakes to add more layering fun!
Thanks for hopping over to check out my card.  I hope it inspires you to create something layer-icious!

TCP Tuesday... Make it CAS!

Hey there inky friends!  It's the start of the new TCP Tuesday Challenge  at the Cat's Pajamas!  TCP Tuesday Challenge #360 is all about that CLEAN and SIMPLE!  SO, yeah, it's a challenge for me!

I pulled out the cute Sketchy Santa set from the July release and decided to give ol' Santa a spin!  I love the skiing Santa so that was what would take center stage on my CAS card.  How'd I make it work?  Well, I grabbed a Kraft cardstock base (from the dollar spot at Target) and used some white acrylic paint to paint a hill-o-snow.  After that, I traced the edge to clean it up a bit and then stamped the snowflakes and trees with black acrylic paint.  Next, I colored the trees with colored pencils and stamped the snowman onto white cardstock.  I colored him with some colored pencils and Copics.

To finish off the CAS design, I flicked some "snow" onto the card panel and then popped the fussy cut Santa onto the card to call it DONE!

So there you have it.  A successful CAS for my Christmas stash.  WOWEEE!

Remember, you have until the end of August to join in on the challenge!  Just create something CAS and share your creation with us for a chance to win a $50 TCP gift voucher!!

Now let me share a bit about my Christmas themed card!

I created this fun and festive card using the adorable bunny set called "Your Gift".  I started out by using an awesome new blending brush (COMING SOON TO THE SHOP) to add some light blue on a white card panel.  I also stamped some of the tiny stars onto the background so that I could color them and add a bit of sparkly bling.  I then stamped the bunny tree onto a piece of white cardstock and fussy cut the image before coloring with Copic markers.  After it was colored, I applied some white gel pen to add dimension and give a bit more texture.  I then started arranging the card design.
I thought a whisp of golden thread would add the fine ribbon treatment I needed for this card.  To finish things off, I added a few golden pearls and mounted this panel onto a piece of polkadotty paper (Pink and Main) and mounted this panel onto a green backing.  Next, I mounted the whole panel onto the card base and added the sweet sentiment.

Thanks for hopping over to check out my card.  I hope my teamies also inspire you to start filling your Christmas card stash box with some awesome new cards!

I selected a sweeeeet bunny image for my Summer project!  Kick Some Grass! is such a fun set!  I love the antics of this little bunny!  Bunny is ALWAYS into some mischief or human-like fun!  Here, Bunny is sitting in a patch of posies and has no fear of allergies! HA HA!

I chose to keep this image the focus of the card, not adding much embellishing or layering.
Thanks for hopping over today!  I hope my bunny project gets you inspired and I hope you consider joining the TCP Challenge this month!  :) .

It's TCP Tuesday: Envie Envy!

Hey there inky friends!  Today I'm joining my fellow Cat Packers as we introduce this month's TCP Tuesday Challenge:  Envie Envy!  WOO!  Remember, play along in our challenge and there's a $50.00 Gift Certificate to The Cat's Pajamas shop!  TCP Stamps and dies are not required in this challenge but we LOVE to see them pop up in TCP Tuesday entries!  We hope to see you join us for the fun.

Often times, the envie that holds our precious creations goes unloved...This week...give it some extra-special care...Just as much love as the card itself...and in my case, incorporate the envie into the card design!
The Cat's Pajamas Blog
I created this fun little giftie card by folding an A2 Kraft envelope in half, tying a ribbon around it, and then I got to work on decorating!  I selected one of the most adorable sets to feature in this design and it's called Family Forever.  I just love the adorable little peeps and the sweet bear in this set so they take center stage in this project.
First, I folded an A2 envie in half and secured the fold with a ribbon bow.  Then I created the background (front and back) on my Gelli Plate.  I scribbled Copics in a circlular fashion onto the plate spritzed with Copic blending solution and lifted the color with a piece of cream colored cardstock.   I then added a few dots of the same color directly to the inked panel and some sparkly ink splatters too.  Then I stamped the sentiment with RGAvenue Black Taffy dye based ink.

Next, I mounted those panels onto light blue cardstock and pasted them to the front and back portion of the folded envie with yellow ribbon tied securely in a bow.   After that, I stamped the animal images and started coloring with Copic Markers.  I cut out the images and assembled them onto the front panel and then the two little peeps on the back panel.  I also doodled a little puddle for them to splash in.
On the inside of the envie, I placed a little springy image and a little lost duckie.  I colored them with colored pencils by starting out with a base layer of white to make the color pop!
This fun little envie (I used to make these ALL THE TIME back in the day) is a great way to gift a note, cash, gift cards, etc.  You can also attach several envies together to make a little book...SO FUN!  Next time you have a special gift to give, make sure to remember this oldie but a goodie!
