TCP Tuesday... Make it CAS!

Hey there inky friends!  It's the start of the new TCP Tuesday Challenge  at the Cat's Pajamas!  TCP Tuesday Challenge #360 is all about that CLEAN and SIMPLE!  SO, yeah, it's a challenge for me!

I pulled out the cute Sketchy Santa set from the July release and decided to give ol' Santa a spin!  I love the skiing Santa so that was what would take center stage on my CAS card.  How'd I make it work?  Well, I grabbed a Kraft cardstock base (from the dollar spot at Target) and used some white acrylic paint to paint a hill-o-snow.  After that, I traced the edge to clean it up a bit and then stamped the snowflakes and trees with black acrylic paint.  Next, I colored the trees with colored pencils and stamped the snowman onto white cardstock.  I colored him with some colored pencils and Copics.

To finish off the CAS design, I flicked some "snow" onto the card panel and then popped the fussy cut Santa onto the card to call it DONE!

So there you have it.  A successful CAS for my Christmas stash.  WOWEEE!

Remember, you have until the end of August to join in on the challenge!  Just create something CAS and share your creation with us for a chance to win a $50 TCP gift voucher!!

Here are the details for the TCP Challenge:

SNOW DAYS are FUN DAYS!

Hey there inky friends...This card is dedicated to my family and friends in Arizona who have experienced a BIG snowstorm!  I'm soooo jealous!  LUCKY DUCKS!  I created this card today in honor of you.  I hope you are enjoying your glorious snow!

To create my card, I used a mix of Copic markers (in blue and lavender) on my Gelli Plate and spritzed it with alcohol.  I then lifted the ink onto a piece of white cardstock to create the gorgeous background layer.  Next, I stamped the snowflakes from the Snowy Greetings set from Joy Clair using some black ink.

After that, I stamped the sentiment and the snowman cluster with black ink.  I cut out the center snowman and added some copic coloring.  I attached a little snow ground layer that I doodled with a marker then attached the snowman and the sentiment.  I flicked some white ink onto this panel to give some additional "snow" effect then mounted the whole panel onto a blue piece of cardstock then mounted it onto a white card base.  FINISHED!

So fun, so blue, so deelish!  Lucky ducks!

Thanks for popping over!  I hope you enjoyed this adorable little card!  See you tomorrow!

SNOW DAY! Gnome for the Holidays

Hello there inky friends!  I'm excited to be sharing my first SNOW DAY CARD today!  WAHOO!!!  While it sleets and rains outside (and ice piles up all over), I'm toasty warm inside sipping my coffee, cleaning, making soup and...creating a few crafty cards.  Yes, I'm also still in my jammies! WAHOO!  I love days like this!

I created this card that features the most adorable gnome set from TCP called Gnome For the Holidays.  I inked up the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored them with Copics.  I also did a little dotty-doo on the base panel and spritzed it with some Snow Shimmerz Spray to give it some shimmery shine.  I added some Pearl Nuvo Drops and some no-hole sequins to add to the layering.

Taking a little liberty with the images,  I doodled up a string of lights on the tree as well as a nice pile of snow for them to play on finished off this fun and playful card.  I used a Staedtler .01 Black pigment ink for my doodle marks.
A few dots of the white Gelli Roll Pen helped give their snowy outfits just the adorable vibe it needed.
Fussy cutting these images is quite relaxing and I love to pop them up to let the lighting and shadows just play off of the page.  :)

Happy Snow Day!

I LOVE Snow Days!!!

I'm taking advantage of my snow days off from school and am making a lot of cards.  I made two of these cards today to send off to a couple Stamp-Shack friends.  I'm in a monthly swap called The FLOOD where a couple particpants a month are flooded with Stamping Goodness...I'm getting too close to the end of the month so I thought I'd better take advantage of my free time and get some cards made up and mailed off!  Now tomorrow is another snow day so I'll work on my swap projects for February...I'm thinking a little sunshine should head their way since almost everyone will be doing Valentine cards (Don't you think?)
For this card, I used a new stamp I purchased about a month ago.  I had actually forgotten about my YNS purchase (several stamps) until today when I saw a card made with one of their stamps on another blog.  I couldn't believe I hadn't used it yet!!!  This stamp is called Ellie Loves to Skate and it's just so stinkin' adorable!!!  I love her little braids flipping up like that!  The sentiment is from The Angel Company (A Cup of LOVE).  Patterned Paper is Linen Closet by DCWV...Love the shimmer on the paper so I added some in her fur too.

Copic Colors Used on this project:   E000, 01, 31, 55, 57, 70; G0000, 00

Bring on the SNOW!

Oh man,

What a TEASE and a JOKE!!! The snowstorm that hit the south east just passed by my house with just a dusting of the white stuff.  Oh I'm so MAD I could SPIT ICICLES!!!  I love snow and was wishing for a real big BLIZZARD!  NOPE!  I guess I really do need to move back to IOWA where it doesn't seem to want to STOP snowing!!!

Do you think my snowy cards are making Mother Nature think I don't really need any of the real stuff if I can make my own with all the paper I have and snow images I can stamp???  That can't be it!

Woodware USA's "A Winter's Day" Stamp Set
colored with colored pencils and blended with Gamsol.
Before the big bliZZARD in the Southeast, I made this little card...To get into the MOOD...What good did it do?  Only sent a "sprinkle" of snow my way and the Crocus' must surely be confused!  Oh, well.  Love this stamp set anyway.

This week is Anything Goes! at the Woodware USA Challenge Blog so head over there and check out all the designer creations and make sure to post your creation for the challenge...You just may win a brand new stamp set!!!

Good LUCK!

His Craftsmanship...

Today I want to share with you a card I created using some inspiration found at 2 peasinabucket.com.  There has been a distress ink challenge going on over there for several weeks and I haven't had a chance to work on anything.  I did find a fabulous example in the gallery and asked the maker if I could "scraplift" her idea... Jenypea graciously said yes, so you can see her beautiful work HERE.  Today, I spent some time working on a snowy background.  When I finished the background, I had to find the PERFECT sentiment to go with it...and boy, did I find the perfect sentiment!!!

Don't you just love the color combo?
I love the deep colors achieved by distressing the white cardstock with Broken China ink and Dusty Concord...Perhaps I got a little carried away with my distressing, as it would look beautiful with lighter shades of blue too...but I just couldn't stop.  These two colors are my most favorite colors in the world, so I just kept going, and going and going!  Anyway, the contrast against the embossed stamping is just perfect, don't you think?

After working on the stamped portion of the image, I felt I needed to add some sparkle...so I pulled out some cherished (and expensive) silver cardstock and used it to add a special touch to the card.

The silver cord bow finishes it off!
Applying some light colored -barely metallic ribbon also gave the card some added POP! I could have added some bling or some Stickles, but I felt I needed to stop...and not go overboard!!!

I just love this little bear from Heartfelt Creations. When I saw BEAR-Y FUN, I knew I just had to have him. He's the perfect fit in my teddy bear collection!
I paired up the adorable image with the whimsical sentiment found in one of the newest sets: Let it Snow Flurries Precut Set I just stamped the sentiment, cut out each individual letter, added some copic shading, some stickles and popped it up on the oval. Perfect, huh?

Snow Fun Day!

Here are some snowy pictures. 18 inches and counting!

Not the best self portrait, but hope you get the point...I LOVE SNOW!!!

Peanut hates it! She is shivvverrrrinnnggg and wants to go back inside.

This is my snowman the first time I shoveled...

Here he is the second time:

NO JOKE, NO SNOW PILE...Just a spot that was untouched...Almost 18 inches...Can you believe it? WEEYOOOO!!!

Peanut hears a little birdie chirping!
Back later!
Bring on the BLIZZARD! So far, I've measured 14 inches and it's still coming down. I've shoveled a pee-pee path in the back yard for Peanut, scooped up the snow on the sidewalk and stairway, and made a path around the car. Of course, this is only the first time and won't be the last. That's OK, I'm ready for more!!!

While shoveling, I heard a little "woof, woof" ...

I turned around and saw that Peanut had fallen (or walked) off the top step to the house and landed in the snowfilled flowerbed...She was stuck in the snow and couldn't get out. She was standing along the side of the step waiting for me to rescue her. Awww...She just HATES snow, but she just HAS to come out and watch me shovel every time!

I'm headed upstairs to finish making more Christmas cards. Yes, I'm sure they'll really be late arrivals!

SNOW DAY!!!

Woo Hoo! It's snowing and it's a snow day today. After a little time shoveling snow and trying to coax Peanut outside to go potty (SHE HATES SNOW), I decided to post some of the cards I've made in the last few weeks. They've been sitting around waiting for their photo shots so I thought I'd better get them done today and get them loaded up.

I'm also working on more sketches and used three of them to make the following cards. If you like the sketches, feel free to use them and post a link to your card in the comments. I'd love to see what you create with them.

I also received a stamping kit from OBP that was a limited release of these adorable penguins...I'm using all the supplies included in the kit as well as the adorable stamps to make this small scrapbook...As the album develops (I have the base book and a few pages done and ready for photos) I'll post more pictures.
