National Coffee Day: Super Sponsor Joy Clair

Hello again coffee loving crafty peeps!  I hope you've been having fun getting inspired by all the gorgeous creations made featuring our Super Sponsors at Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog!  Today I'm joining the National Coffee Day blog hop challenge and am sharing a few cards featuring our Super Sponsors!  I like to keep manufacturer posts separate, so I've got several blog posts today so I hope you check 'em all out!  For this post, I pulled out a favorite set from Super Sponsor Joy Clair!

I've been having a rough patch with school and my health so I created a few cards for my school peeps who have been there for me when I've been a crazy wreck.  I appreciate their listening ears and their support more than they know.  Hopefully things will become a bit more sunshiny and happy in the near future.  

I decided to use a few sets that work perfectly for my "thanks" cards to these special peeps.  I used "TEACHER" set and the paw prints from the "DOG GONE CHRISTMAS" set.  Although my school mascot is a Wildcat, I think the paw print fits nicely.  I also used our school colors to make these more customized.  

I created a couple different versions:  one design for my awesome teamies and another design for my administrators.  

Just a few copics were needed to create this fun school themed collection!

Joy Clair and Rinea Foil...Fall in LOVE!

Hello there Joy Clair friends!  It's Kerry here and I'm back to share another fun card created with some brand spankin' new products from Joy Clair and Rinea Foil!  I created this card that features the new Fall Greetings stamp set and some Autumn Foiled Paper variety pack.  I wanted to create a rich and lovely card that gives the ultimate fall vibe...oranges, yellows, rich greens...So I stamped one of the leafy borders on a piece of yellow cardstock and then cut it to create a "scalloped edge".  I then colored it with some Leisure Arts water based markers.  After coloring and cutting, I used a blender dauber to burnish the edges with a rusty pumpkin color.  It paired nicely with the red Rinea foil that I wanted to use.  
I attached some red Rinea foil to the bottom of this panel and then tied some sparkly gold ribbon to bring the two pieces together.  Next, I stamped the sentiment and some leaves (and the black dotty plants) so that I could attach them with foam squares.  When all was done, I flicked some black paint onto the panel and mounted this whole panel onto a kraft envelope.  
I wanted the foil to display both colors so I curled the edges on the bottom to reveal the golden color.  So yummy!

Joy Clair and Rinea Foil...Icy Hot!

Hey there inky friends!  I'm sharing a fun card I created using some fun Rinea Foil products and the brand new Joy Clair stamp set called You're A Gem. Check out this fun and "Icy" card! 

To create my card, I grabbed the yummy Rinea Foil called "Frosted Foil".  I used the Starstruck Turquoise in the pad and stamped the fun gems directly onto the foil.  After stamping and cutting out the foiled gems, I used my bone folder to crease the lines so that I could bend the foil and create some dimension.  I then stamped the gem cluster onto white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. 

To add a bit more of an "Icy" look, I used the Rinea Foil 3-D Rolled Star Die Set to create some "shards".  I used the smallest die in the set and after rolling each section, I cut the piece in half so that I could have two pieces to tuck behind my gems.  Looks pretty cool, right?!  

After attaching the "shards", I added some additional stamped elements around the base panel and colored with Copics before attaching some golden thread and some bling.  I love how this icy card turned out and I hope you do too!

Today, I'm featuring two NEW stamp sets and an older set that is one of my well loved favorites!  Hope you enjoy!  

My first card features the new stamp set called Fall Family Football.  It's a fun set perfect for the football season!  I paired the images up to create a fun little collage and stamped the goal post onto some "turf" colored cardstock.  To finish off the fun "gridiron" look, I splattered the page with some black acrylic paint and then added some dirty prints with my cloth wrapped finger dipped in black ink.   

I snipped the Go Team! Sentiment into two pieces so I could add the GO to the pennant and the TEAM to the play panel.  

 Deelish prints.  I love the scruffy look of this card!

My second card features the new HOPE stamp set.  I love the gloves and the fun designs on this set and can't wait to see all the inspiration with this set.  The recipient is surely going to smile!

I added a little black acrylic paint in varying consistencies with the splattering effect.  I also kept this card super simple and CAS so that the focus goes directly to the image/sentiment on the card.

My third card features a fun little twist on the planner/bible journaling set called Lightbulb Moment.  I love the doodly aspect of this set and found the possibilities for this set are endless!  I reached waayyy back and designed some framed "portraits" that are just as fabulous as my Kindergartener's work.  I arranged them on the "frames" so that they could really set this card off.  

I embellished the design using some of the smaller stamps in this set.  I also incorporated some child -like handwriting here and there.  

 Just look at that yummy cake.  Pretty fancy 'eh?!

Of course, I couldn't finish the design without adding a little arrows to draw the eye right on into that beautiful kiddie coloring!

Joy Clair and Therm-o-Web...Collaboration Fun!

Hello there Joy Clair friends!  It's Kerry here and today I'm sharing a few fun creations featuring the gorgeous stamps from Joy Clair and the deeelish products from Therm-o-Web!  I created a couple fun cards and I thought I'd share how they were made...Take a peek!  

My first card features the stamp set Thankful and Blessed.  I stamped the flower and colored using Copics and Leisure Arts Colored Pencils.  After coloring, I cut the stem/leaves off so that I had just the flower head.  Next, I used the I-Craft Ultra Bond Adhesive Pen to doodle the word "Fall" and some random squiggles onto some pumpkin colored cardstock.  After that, I applied some brand new Amber Watercolor Deco Foil and ran it through my laminator.  When it was done, I distressed the edges using some Pumpkin colored ink.  

To add some fun embellishing, I applied a strip of Deco Foil Stick on/Iron on Border Trim Elements (leaves) and then trimmed the edges.  I like this embroidery element because it is self adhesive and provides for an amazing textural element to my cards.  Give it a try sometime!  I attached this panel to a Bazzill Bling cardstock card panel (burgundy) to give it a nice fall look.  After tying on some black twine, I attached the flower image and then attached this panel to the white card base using the I-Craft Dries Clear Ultra Bond Adhesive.  To finish things off, I attached a coordinating sentence and my card was done!  

I thought this flower reminded me of some tiny sunflowers I collected once so I colored the image using yellows, oranges, browns and greens.  

Look at that shine!  I love Deco-Foil and how it just makes everything so fancy!  

Next up is my second card.  It's a bit more playful but incorporates some of the same doodly aspects when applying Deco Foil.  For this card, I drew some "grass" on the card base and applied some BRAND NEW Emerald Watercolor Deco-Foil to make it shine.  Next, I stamped the sentiment onto a pre-cut kraft shape and then stamped and colored the turtle buddies using Copic Markers.  

Aren't these turtles the cutest?  I stamped and colored the turtles from the stamp set Best Buds and then fussy cut them.  Next, I selected some aqua cardstock to mount the "grassy paper" onto and then mounted this cardfront onto a lime green cardstock.  If you take a peek, you'll notice I also added some decorative flowers.  Such a fun treasure hidden...and rediscovered in my stash!  
Just a few squiggles/strikes on the paper with the I-Craft Ultra Bond Adhesive Pen and I have a fun/shiny grassy background. 

 

So delish.  Love the shine, love the smile this cute card provides!

Have Faith...Joy Clair's Saved by Grace

Hello there inky friends!  I'm back with another crafty inspiration!  As I prepared this post for Joy Clair's blog,  I was fighting through the most difficult days of my life. Walking through a devastation to the heart like no other I've experienced.  Sadness, guilt, sorrow beyond any sadness I have felt in my life.  Unexpectedly, I said goodbye to my beloved pooch Mason on June 29.  After a necessary dental procedure the day before, he seemed to be recovering well until the early morning hours.  We rushed to the emergency room and they tried everything to help him but his tiny body...and head could not sustain the pressure and trauma.  Through my heart-wrenching grief and sorrow, I immersed myself in stamping and creating, and in prayer.  To this day, it is still so very difficult to be around anyone, I just want to hide away and escape the world.  I can't stop the tears, the "I miss you" and the "I'm so sorry".  I miss him so much.  

Stamping has always been a comfort to me during hard times and has allowed me time to escape my sorrow and work through my grief.  And on that day when I worked on this project for Joy Clair, it helped my heart, a tiny bit.  I appreciate this gift from God and know that through stamping and creating, He gives me the most amazing and comforting embrace.  I am sure many of you understand this completely, and know you too can lean on this form of therapy when the time comes.  

I pulled the "Saved By Grace" Bible Journaling set and listened to an unexpected song that came on TV.  Cyndi Lauper was on public television and was singing the song "Time after Time".  The words in this song pierced my soul.  It was everything.   So while she sang, tears rolled down my cheeks and I created,...an envelope, with a message tucked inside...

The doodly flowers were stamped with VersaClair pink ink and the flowers were stamped in black and colored in green Copic markers.  I used some hot pink Bazzill cardstock to stamp the flowers and some white cardstock to stamp the leaves. 

The bold sentiment was stamped repeatedly with black ink and cut out.  I then assembled this floral panel onto a Jillibean Soup black gift bag (A2 size) that I could tuck a card into.  

I hope this post inspires you to have FAITH even when devastation hits your heart. HE will always help carry you through times of sadness, sorrow and troubles. 

Joy Clair and Clear Scraps Collaboration: Wooden Easel Fun!

Hello there inky friends!  I'm so excited to be sharing a fun little end-of-the-school-year gift using Clear Scraps wooden elements and Joy Clair stamps!  WOOP!!!  Check out the Joy Clair Blog for more collaboration projects ALL THIS WEEK! Today I'm featuring the Clear Scraps Vintage Wood Phone Stand.  Not only can this wood piece be a cell phone stand, it can also be a card stand (for photos) as well as a little recipe card easel or, in this case, an "End of the school year" photo stand.  I know that this time of year brings all the feels for many families and the "Last Day of School" photos have been flooding my social media pages.  How about you?

They're so adorable.  Why not capture the image, print it and gift it to someone special?  This easel is the perfect showcase for that photo!  As for me as a kindergarten teacher, I would be thrilled to prop up a little class photo on this easel and set it atop my desk on the first day of school.  A little reminder of all the growth to come!

I started out by painting the easel using ivory acrylic paint.  After the paint dried, I stamped the little apple from the new Teacher set using Palette Black ink and then heat set.  After that, I painted over the apples a bit with a drybrush technique so that the apples could peek through.  I didn't want the apples to be crisp and clean, I wanted them to leave hints that they are there.  

After the paint dried, I applied some Copic coloring and stippling to the apples using a variety of red/pink/green colors.  After I was happy with the color, I flicked some ivory acrylic paint over it to finish off the panel.  To finish off the design and move on to gift-giving presentation, I cut a piece of red cardstock into a tag shape attached some ribbon and twine (and a red button) and added a punny little sentiment.  Now it's ready for its debut!  

This was such a fun project and I look forward to propping up a class photo on this easel when school begins!  Thanks Clear Scraps for the opportunity to play with your wood products.  I had a ball!  

Joy Clair: Friends and Flowers

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm back with a fun card I created that is bursting with happiness!  I love them.  This new truck reminds me so much of my childhood when I would visit my grandma and grandpa and I would sneak into their garage and drink the root beer that my grandpa hid in his old truck.  I remember discovering it for the first and being in awe of all the root beer bottles.  I would sit in that truck and sip the rootbeer that was sooo delish!

    

I chose to create this card with additional blooms from the Doodle Flowers Set.  I think it coordinates perfectly with this truck, don't you think?!  

I colored the truck to include some nice old rusty parts.  

After stamping and coloring the truck, I fussy cut the image and started working on the background.  I wanted to add additional flowers behind the truck to make the image just OOOOOZZZEEEE with flowers.  Copics worked perfectly to incorporate the perfect color with this design.  

To finish the card off, I added some aqua ribbon, some sequins.  This color combo has to be one of my most favorite color combos to date.

When I first saw this set, the verses in 1 Timothy 1:16-17 came to mind and heart.  

Christ Came to Save the Sinners...

"But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.  To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever."

My interpretation:  

While it doesn't directly speak of slavery or being shackled, it speaks of the utmost of patience to those who are troubled; the sinners and those who who struggle to find their way.  He is ever so patient, allowing us time (in our own time) to discover The Way and The Light..So while our hearts and minds feel enslaved or trapped, we have time to find our way...Be patient...  And when it is time, our path will be clear...and we will be welcomed into His kingdom with open arms.  

What are your thoughts?

To conclude my study, I designed this page by watercoloring the background in  YELLOW (purification/fire/light) and PURPLE (kingship, royalty).  After that, I added hints of pinks (representing right relationship) and white (purity and righteousness).  Next, I colored the castle with hints of BLUE (to represent the Holy Spirit and Authority) and the crown was colored in Golden yellows and oranges (Glory, divinity, Kingship) If you're interested in learning more about the symbolic meanings of color as they relate to the Bible, there is a great read on  Biblical Meanings of Colors

After stamping my sentiment over my watercolored background, I applied the castle and the crown and then splattered some white.  This white "fleck/splatter" represents the turbulent journey back and forth always catching pieces of His righteousness in the journey to find our way.

Today I get to share the "No Problama" set!  It's such a fun and festive set!

Look at those adorable llamas!  And oooohhh...Look at that fun Pinata, Maracas and party banners! WOO!  I chose to create a fun little birthday party card featuring the pinata (in fun traditional pinata colors), and a fabulous and festive maraca background.

Do you notice the card base and the banner?  This fun Apple Tart Dotted Swiss Cardstock from Bazzill Basics is the PERFECT cardstock for a festive party themed card.  It's like the dots are fun confetti just falling!

After coloring my images with Copic Markers, I added a bit of gloss and bling to add some sparkle then mounted everything just so.  I attached the "pinata" to some string and tied it to the banner so that it could swing, swing, swing!  SO fun!

Joy Clair and Coffee....Coffee and LOVE!

WOO HOO!!!  Today I'm sharing a project for the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  Are you playing along?  Joy Clair is a Super Sponsor and they're excited to join the fun in the hop!  Make sure you hop over to the Coffee Lovers Blog Post HERE to check out the hop! 

I hope you've been enjoying the coffee-licous creations so far!  As a coffee lover myself, I've been waiting for this hop since the conclusion of the last hop!  The Coffee Lovers Blog hops are so fun and full of inspiration (and encouragement to shop, shop, shop) don't you think? 

Today, I'm sharing a card featuring the foam art in the Coffee Talk stamp set.  I'm also featuring the deelish cardstock from Bazzill Basics!

To create this card, I used the following Bazzill Basics Paper: 
Bazzill Basics Bling:  Regal 
Bazzill Basics Pale Rose

I cut a 12x12 piece of Pale Rose Cardstock up so that I would have a 5x5 square card base and a 4x4 piece to stamp on. 
I cut a 12x12 piece of Regal Blingy cardstock so that I would have a piece of 4.5 x 4.5 to use as a layer.  I also used a scrap of printed paper from a retired My Minds Eye printed paper pad called Vanity Fair.  
I started out by cutting my Pale Rose cardstock into a 5x5 card base.  I also cut a panel that was 4x4 so that I could splatter some Walnut Stain Distress Oxide over it.  When I was satisfied with the splatter of the ink and some water, I blasted it with my heat gun so that it would dry quickly.  Then I stamped the heart pattern foam art over it using white ink.  Next, I dried it again and rubbed some Gold Pan Pastel over that.  Next, I used my Misti to stamp the additional heart design foam art with some dark chocolate ink onto a scrap of white cardstock.  I fussy cut the foam art and rubbed it with some Gold Pan Pastel to get it shimmery and started to assemble the card.  

I wanted you to see all the shimmer and shine on this card so I tilted the paper a bit so you could see the deelish metallic sheen on my paper.  Just love how it transforms a regular card into something so elegant.  

After arranging the printed paper and the foam art onto the card front, I stamped the MMMM... sentiment onto the splattered panel, mounted the bling panel onto it and wrapped this panel with a yummy mocha satin ribbon then I attached this panel onto the card base using foam squares.

I created this little dark chocolate covered coffee beans treat container that features the new set "Coffee and Jesus".  I used some yummy cardstock from Bazzill Basics too.  

I stamped the little wreath (that is included in the set) onto some pink cardstock with some watermelon ink and then colored the leaves with a white Gelly Roll pen.  I then diecut a little pillow box using a die from Fun Stampers Journey.  After assembling the box, I filled it with some dark chocolate covered coffee beans and then I wrapped a piece of Regal Bazzill Bling cardstock around the pillow box and tied that off with a piece of Ecru floss and a few buttons-one abalone shell and one sweet pink!

Next, I stamped and colored the cup using Copic markers.  I tucked that little cup into the "belly band" and now I have a fun little treat to share with a friend!
