TCP Tuesday #371: Slimline!

Hello there inky friends!  It's TCP Tuesday at The Cat's Pajamas and this round is all about those SLIMLINES!  I wanted to play along but since I don't really care for the size of standard slimline cards, I decided to create a different version of the slimline.  I call it the "REVERSE SLIMLINE".  What makes it a reverse slimline? You may ask.  Well, a reverse slimline (I think it's my invention ha ha) is a card that can fit perfectly in an old school standard sized envelope.  It's SLIM and non-standard A2...Like Slimline cards for many, THIS size has been addictive for me!  

I decided to create a back to school themed card that I'm going to send to one of my teammates.  Although we're not teaching IN School for the first quarter because of COVID precautions, we are still working together to plan and get things perfectly set for what will be an interesting and challenging new year.  

To create my card, I pulled the fun  Skinny Alphabet Stencilz and inked it up with black ink onto a piece of white cardstock.  I then flicked a bit of black acrylic paint on it as well as rubbed a bit of ink along the outer edges.  Next, I attached it to some red cardstock and tied a bit of black twine around the card.  I also attached a button.  After that, I diecut a Toppers CutUps punched paper edge using light blue cardstock and then tucked that under the ribbon.  I stamped and colored the car from the new Beary Christmas Set and fussy cut it to remove the presents.  This image reminds me of the hours and hours of commuting time we won't have to do now that we're working/teaching from home.  

There you have it...a fun little reverse slimline card for my teamie...

TCP Sneaky Peek Week #7: MORE DIES!

Hello there inky friends!  It's DAY 7 of Sneaky Peek Week at The Cat's Pajamas and we're sharing projects featuring three more die sets!  Check out this fun LITTLE TRUCK!  I new that when I saw this truck, that I would make it blue...I've got such special memories of a blue truck like this that was always parked in my grandpa's garage...My cousins/sisters and I would head out to the truck and sit inside...You see, we would find some awesome treasure inside there.  My grandpa used to hide bottles of root beer inside the cab!  Sooo...every time I see an old truck (especially baby blue), I think if my grandpa and his root beer stash!  HA HA...

I paired this little truck up with the cute and cozy panda from the Oh Holy Night set and a little graph paper for the background.  This is a small card so it's perfect to place atop a little gift.  

I matched some plum colored ribbon to tie in with the polar bear and added some sparkly silver paint on the hubcaps and other parts of the truck.  

The other two die sets are sure to be a hit too.  Check 'em out:

Sneaky Peek Week 6: Oh Holy Night

Hello there inky friends.  It's day 6 of Sneaky Peek Week at The Cat's Pajamas and today we're sharing inspriation featuring the adorable doodly set called "Oh Holy Night".  This is a fun set that includes a ton of scene building features like snowmen, winter trees, buildings, holly, wreaths and of course figgy pudding!  I'm excited to use this for a another fun project coming soon!

This little card is what I call a Reverse Slimline card.  I don't care much for making slimline cards as I prefer the closer confines of smaller cards sooo...I decided to design a card that would fit in an old school standard envelope.  You know, the ones your grandma used to use to send off the bill checks every month.  HA HA.  Well, these are nice and handy...even if you don't have to pay bills with checks anymore.  

I started out by doodling a little snow line on a thin piece of cardstock.  I then added some color and went to town stamping the assorted trees and tiny houses.  After that, I stamped the moon and on a separate piece of cardstock, I stamped the snowmen and another house that would become the dimensional portions of my scene.  I also doodled a few snowflakes in the sky and some smoke coming from the chimneys.  

I mounted these images and then mounted this panel onto a blue base then popped it onto the card base.  I stamped the sentiment along the bottom edge to finish it off.  No ribbon necessary for this cute one stamp card!

TCP Sneaky Peek Week Day 4: Warmest Wishes

 Hello there inky friends!  It's Day 4 of The Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peek Week and I'm sharing a fun card featuring the new stamp and die set called "Warmest Wishes".  This is an adorable set of critters and fun sentiments!  I have colored up all the images and they will make their appearances soon but first off, I'll share this marvelous moose!  I love him! 

I decided to create a simple CAS colorblock design to allow my moose to take center stage.  I colored him up with Copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut him out.

TCP Tuesday #370: Christmas in July!

Hello there inky friends!  Today we're introducing a fun new TCP Tuesday challenge this month and it's all about "CHRISTMAS IN JULY"!  WOO HOO.  Join us by stocking up on our stash of 2020 Christmas greetings for loved ones!

Here are the details for the Challenge:

For this card, I used the fun set called NORTH POLE OR BUST! It's a great set that is full of fun and whimsical images featuring Sprinkle the Kat, Poochie the Pooch and the fun penguins!!!
I also created a watercolored background and diecut it with the DOTS die set and added some fun snowflakes using the FIVE SNOWFLAKES die HERE .

 I colored the image with Copic markers.
