Sneak Peek Week Day 7: Dies, Dies, Dies!

Hello there inky friends!  I'm back today with the final sneaky peek for April's new release at The Cat's Pajamas! It's DIE DAY!   I've enjoyed creating the fun, fun, fun dies in this bundle and I know you will too.  Hop over to the blog to check out all the yummy inspiration!

Today, I'm featuring the fun addition to the LINERS collection.  This new Set:  LINERS 2 comes with two fun spring/birthday strip dies perfect for that fun finishing touch on your CAS cards!  If you already have LINERS 1, You'll definitely want to add this one to the collection!  And while you're at it, check out the ONE LINERS sentiments!

I wanted to create a fun little positive card to send to a friend during our time tucked away in our homes so I pulled a piece of white Neenah cardstock and colored a rainbow (using Caran d'Ache Neocolor 2 watersoluble crayons) strip along the top middle of the section and watered it down to blend everything together.  I also added a few flicks of color in the rainbow trail using some watered down color).  After that, I diecut the floral Liner die using some bright orange cardstock and popped it up on the card.  To finish things off, I flicked some sparkle onto the page and added a little golden bling to the center of the flower before mounting it onto a blue card base.  

 Such a hopeful card, right?!  I can't recall where the "Think Positive" sentiment comes from at this time but I'll be back soon to share what I find out.  Loose parts always get me!

Sneaky Peek Week Day 5: Splish Splash!

Hello there inky friends!  I'm back with another sneaky peek!  Today, The Cat's Pajamas is sneakin' a peek at the new AHHHDORABLE set "Splish Splash".  It has the most adorable little sketchy images with the theme of friendship and love.  A free cut file is also available for this set HERE.  

I wanted the sentiment to drive my design so I created a rainy scene in the background (Copics, Gelly Roll Pen, Microfine Iridescent glitter).  After creating the background, I stamped the main image with the kiddos and then colored it with Copics.  i made sure to color the umbrella to represent the "Sunshine".  

I added some polka-dots to her raincoat and mounted my image right onto the background. The sentiment that started it all...finished it off.  To pull the sunshine back into the card, I mounted the stamped panel onto a bright yellow card base.  Happy, happy, happy!

TCP Sneaky Peek #2: Hello Spring!

Hello there inky friends!  I'm back with DAY 2 of The Cat's Pajama's Sneaky Peek week!  You can find a full list of sneaks on the TCP Blog today.  Check it out HERE.  Today's sneak is of this most adorable little Springtime set called HELLO SPRING!  It's complete with all the little garden critters that will make your garden grow.  My card features the cute little snail with the flower kiddo sitting on top and a fun little garden scene for them to pass by.  

To create my card, I started out by stamping the little snail image and colored it using Copics and colored pencils.  I just kept grabbing markers so there are WAYY too many to list.  That's the fun I have with coloring- I don't plan any coloring, I just keep pulling markers and playing until I end up with something I'm satisfied with.  After coloring the snail driver (hee hee), I fussy cut it out ON THE LINES so that there was no white edge.  I used a gray Copic to trace around the edge so that you can't see the white core of my cardstock.  

After coloring and cutting out the snail, I stamped the scene onto white cardstock (Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Card #100) and used several green markers to create the grass.  I mounted the snail driver onto the panel and used a scrap of Lawn Fawn patterned paper along the bottom to finish it off.  I then added some "clouds" with a blending brush and some Wendy Vecchi ink. 

After mounting the stamped panel onto purple cardstock, I stamped the sentiment, added some foam squares and mounted it onto a dark green card base.  VOILA!  DONE!

TCP Cuppa Sunshine...The Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop Day 2

Hey there inky coffee-loving friends!  It's Saturday and woo hoo!  I'm hoppin' along with the Spring SummerCoffee Lovers Hop today.  It's Day 2.  Have YOU played along?  Head over to the main Coffee Lovers Hop post HERE to add YOUR project to the fun!

I pulled out a fun little coffee to-go cup image from the new set Freshly Brewed Heaven  at The Cat's Pajamas and paired it up with the perfectly springy sentiment from the Look for the Rainbows

To add a bit more whimsy to this set, I doodled a springy scene onto the sleeve of the cup and colored in kinder-style with Neocolor II pastels.  After that, I stitched up the background paper on my sewing machine and assembled my card. 

To finish off the card, I added some plaid yellow ribbon, a yellow button tied with floss and some sparkly Silver Saucers holeless sequins.

One little Piggie...Two Little Piggies...Three Little Piggies...TCP Sneaky Peek!

Hey there inky friends!  Today we're celebratin' the YEAR OF THE PIG at The Cat's Pajamas and we're doing it up in style.  We've got an adorable little piggie set and die set that'll work perfectly for all your piggie needs!  This cutie-patootie set will be available soon so we're giving you a sneak peek today!  Check out all the SNEAKS HERE!

I created a card featuring several of the images in this adorable Year of the Pig set.  I am imagining this little piggie princess trying to convince her coffee loving piggie pal to give her a little sip...Well, Piggie Pal wants to "Be an Angel Piggie" so he obliges!  

I paired up this piggie pal collection with the fun new Rectangular Postage stamp die set.  This die is fabulous and cuts three frames and a fun little leaf.  Notice the little posies on the blue background paper?  That little image comes from the piggie set too.  I just stamped some paper with clear pigment ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  It gives a fun little touch of shine and dimension to the card too.  

In creating my little scene, I doodled a little sun to tuck into my framed panel.  I also used some light Copics to create the fun sky background.  It's very faint, but if you look closely, you might be able to pick up the color.

To finish up the project, I created a coordinating envie so that this card can be shipped off in style!  Remember, our TCP Tuesday Challenge #355 (Decorate an envie) ends soon so make sure you join the fun for a chance to win!

It's TCP Tuesday: Envie Envy!

Hey there inky friends!  Today I'm joining my fellow Cat Packers as we introduce this month's TCP Tuesday Challenge:  Envie Envy!  WOO!  Remember, play along in our challenge and there's a $50.00 Gift Certificate to The Cat's Pajamas shop!  TCP Stamps and dies are not required in this challenge but we LOVE to see them pop up in TCP Tuesday entries!  We hope to see you join us for the fun.  

Often times, the envie that holds our precious creations goes unloved...This week...give it some extra-special care...Just as much love as the card itself...and in my case, incorporate the envie into the card design!  

The Cat's Pajamas Blog

I created this fun little giftie card by folding an A2 Kraft envelope in half, tying a ribbon around it, and then I got to work on decorating!  I selected one of the most adorable sets to feature in this design and it's called Family Forever.  I just love the adorable little peeps and the sweet bear in this set so they take center stage in this project.  

First, I folded an A2 envie in half and secured the fold with a ribbon bow.  Then I created the background (front and back) on my Gelli Plate.  I scribbled Copics in a circlular fashion onto the plate spritzed with Copic blending solution and lifted the color with a piece of cream colored cardstock.   I then added a few dots of the same color directly to the inked panel and some sparkly ink splatters too.  Then I stamped the sentiment with RGAvenue Black Taffy dye based ink.

Next, I mounted those panels onto light blue cardstock and pasted them to the front and back portion of the folded envie with yellow ribbon tied securely in a bow.   After that, I stamped the animal images and started coloring with Copic Markers.  I cut out the images and assembled them onto the front panel and then the two little peeps on the back panel.  I also doodled a little puddle for them to splash in.

On the inside of the envie, I placed a little springy image and a little lost duckie.  I colored them with colored pencils by starting out with a base layer of white to make the color pop!

This fun little envie (I used to make these ALL THE TIME back in the day) is a great way to gift a note, cash, gift cards, etc.  You can also attach several envies together to make a little book...SO FUN!  Next time you have a special gift to give, make sure to remember this oldie but a goodie!

Seas the Day...Don't Let Go!

I always love to look at stamp sets in a different way, especially HOW I can incorporate them into a COFFEELICIOUS design.  SOOO...This was a fun adventure for me!  I designed an exclusive Coffee Lovers Blog Hop coordinating OCTOPUS CUP image that I call "Don't Let Go!" It works perfectly with the Joy Clair's Seas the Day set.

In my creation, I am featuring the Joy Clair Seas The Day set (A FAVORITE), the Wood Background and to coffee-ize it, I drew up a fun octopus coffee cup.  This octopus is definitely not ready to let go of his cup any time soon!  Hope you enjoy!

I started out by stamping the wood background onto Kraft card base using some brown ink.  After that, I rubbed a bit of white ink along the edges to "weather" it up a bit.  I stamped the jellyfish and sentiment onto white cardstock then colored them with watercolor pencils.  I stamped the waves in the set with some aqua ink then added a bit of sparkle to it, tore the edges a bit and attached them to the card with glue.  I wanted to create a look similar to washi.  

 Don't you think the wavy stamp works well as a faux washi???

I attached some twine along the top and started coloring my hand drawn image (I digitized it so that I could print it over and over again!  After printing the images and coloring the octopus cup with watercolor markers

Spring is in the Air at Joy Clair!

Today I'm joining some of my fellow Joy Clair designers as we kick off our March Challenge!  Join the fun as we create cards with a fun floral theme:  Check out the inspiration photo:

Aren't the flowers gorgeous?  I just love the books too!!!

This card was fun and quick to create!  All I did was stamp the big flower from the April Showers set onto white cardstock with Memento Black ink.  After that, I pooled some watercolor onto a plastic card sleeve then layed the card panel onto it.  When rubbing the watercolor, it spread it perfectly onto the card to create a yummy colored background.

After letting the background dry, I mounted it onto some pink cardstock and then watercolored a piece of tissue paper I had left from another project.  I let it dry then stamped the circle from the same April Showers stamp set onto the tissue paper with clear embossing paper and applied some white embossing powder.  I added this tissue to the bottom of the panel with some double sided adhesive. 

I colored a few more posies and applied them to the tissue paper with a foam square.  To finish the card off, I tied some hand dyed twine to the flower and a few pins from my stash.  I mounted this panel onto a krafty card base to complete the look.
