Give Thanks! New Richard Garay Red Rubber!

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm sharing a Fall/festive card featuring two new red rubber sets from Richard Garay Designs (now 88andClear!). I had a ton of fun playing with the yummy new Tight Plaid background and the pretty leafy set Thankful Blessed.

To create my background, I kept the background stamp on it's carrier sheet and used some Vanilla Cream ink directly from the pad onto the stamp.  I didn't completely apply ink all over the stamp image- just in some areas so that the edges and parts softened up.  I then took some sugar drops reinkers (Tangy Gum and Rich Tangerine) onto a  clear sheet and used a dry baby wipe to dab it over the inked stamp in random locations.  After that, I pressed some Powdered Sugar Cardstock onto the inked stamp and peeled it off.  I added some clear embossing powder to it before adding a bit more blending.

After creating the background, I cut it at an angle so that I could create a space for the sentiment.  After stamping the give thanks sentiment onto a piece of white cardstock,  I glued the background panel onto another piece of white cardstock so that the sentiment could peek through.  I then attached two strips of machine stitched cardstock onto the edges to finish that off.  I splattered some black ink as well as Dazzling Pat mixed with reinkers to complete this panel.
To finish things off, I stamped the leaves from the Thankful Blessed set onto a piece of cardstock that had the two ink colors blended on it.  I fussy cut these leaves and then assembled them onto the card with an array of fun embellishments and some yummy twine.  I mounted this panel onto a Rich Tangerine panel and then popped it up onto a Tangy Gum card base (topfold).

Thanks so much for hopping over to my blog.  I hope this card inspires you to get inky too!  See you again next time!

Sweater Weather is here!!! Richard Garay Designs/88andClear

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm sharing a card I created using the fun new red rubber background stamp "Tight Plaid" and the adorable digi set "Blessed Fall" from Richard Garay Designs (now 88andClear).  Would you believe that all of my images from the Sweater Weather set were digitally colored?  Yep!  They were!!! Since the zip file arrives in my email, I can choose the format to print or work with.  I used the .svg file with my Silhouette Cameo software on my computer to digitally color each one of the images.  I then printed, fussy cut (yes, I prefer fussy cutting to my Cameo), and then set the images aside before starting the background.

I stamped the new Tight Plaid background on some Powdered Sugar cardstock using Gray Stuff ink and then attached a scrap of yellow polkadot printed paper from my stash of My Minds Eye 6x6 pads.  After that, I machine stitched the edges, attached the panel to some Tangy Orange cardstock and then added some orange ribbon.  Next, I assembled/arranged the images (along with a little scrap from my circles dies) in a fun little cluster (I have some left for a few more fun cards) and mounted the whole thing with double stick tape to the white card base.  VOILA!

It's so fun to play with these images digitally.  For the sweater, I decided to keep it a bit whimsical by offsetting the color from the overlay lines.  I also mixed a few different colors- light teal (it printed light blue) and some lime green for the cuffs, neckline and waist).  I also went to town coloring the leaves and banner in rainbowlicious colors!
Check out that new PLAID!  Isn't it just delish?  I stamped it using my TH platform using the rubber side of the plate.  Worked like a charm!

Thanks so much for hopping over to check out my card.  I hope it inspires you to play with digital images and incorporate them in your card designs!!! :)

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Hello there inky friends!  It's my parent's Wedding Anniversary today and I want to wish them a happy day!

I created this card for them featuring the gorgeous new Monthly Card Club set:  "Feel Better".  While it's not a "feel better" card, this set works beautifully for many occasions!  I wanted to keep the colors light and pretty, so I pulled some soft lavender and a blue from my Copic collection (BV0000, RV32, B32, G02, G40, G82, YG13). I also created the light gray digital background (and included the sentiment) so that I could really help the card layering come together.  I love that I can digitally change the color of that background paint swipe.

After mounting this panel onto a piece of Sour Mist cardstock, I machine stitched the edges of the card and then added a few splatters of a mix of Sugar Drops:  Sour Apple and Tangy Gum.  I also flicked a few bits of Dazzling Pat on the panel to give it some sparkle.
To finish the card off, I attached it to a Powdered Sugar cardstock base and added a few of adhesive pearls.

Stronger Together

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm sharing a card featuring the yummy new red rubber stamp sets Stronger Together (August Card Club) and the new Bold Leaves background.

To start things off, I pulled a piece of Powdered Sugar cardstock and my collection of RICH SUGARS sugar cube ink pads.  I inked up the leafy background stamp with Rich Honey ink and then used a  blending brush to add color to the edges.  Next, I flicked black acrylic paint on this panel and set it aside to dry.
Next, I stamped some of the florals and leaves in the Stronger Together set with Rich Blueberry, Rich Cherry and Rich Cactus inks.  I fussy cut the images and then diecut part of the So Scalloped die then stamped the we are stronger together sentiment onto the panel.  I then worked on assembling the floral collage on the leafy panel.  I tied some black and white grossgrain check ribbon around the base of the diecut and attached some golden bling.
To finish things off, I mounted the stamped panel onto Rich Blueberry cardstock and then mounted it onto a Rich Cactus card base using foam squares.  So yummy!

I love the rich colors and the fall vibe this card gives off.  I love the cooler months of fall so this is the perfect card to welcome the new season!

Richard Garay Designs August Card Club: Stronger Together

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm sharing a card I created using the gorgeous new August Card Club kit stamp set from Richard Garay Designs.  This card features the beautiful red rubber set "Stronger Together" and tid-bits of the splatter stamp from the new "Life Happens"  red rubber sentiment set.

To start things off, I inked the floral stamp using Tangy Orange Sugar Cube Ink and added some Rich Cactus Sugar Cube ink to the leafy/stem portion of the flower.  Before stamping onto Powdered Sugar Sugar Stock, I huffed the ink to make sure it was wet.  I then applied more of the leaves here and there using Tangy Apple Sugar Cube ink.
After stamping the flowers and leaves I used some colored pencils to help add dimension and extra color to the flowers.  Next, I stamped the little splatter marks (from the splatter background stamp in the "Life Happens" sentiment set) using Black Taffy Sugar Cube ink.  I also added some colored pencil around those dots to help them blend more with the floral scene.  If you look closely, you'll also see a few scratches of Opaque White Gelly Roll pen.
When the floral panel was done, I mounted it onto Sweet Banana cardstock and then onto a piece of Tangy Apple cardstock.  I tied some orange satin ribbon around a Powdered Sugar base and then attached the stamped panel.  Finally, I cut the fun scalloped border from the Deco Strips die set, applied some clear microfine glitter and attached it to the underside of the stamped panel to add extra interest.  I also tied some hot pink satin ribbon around the orange ribbon to pull a little pink out of the orange flowers.

Thanks so much for hopping over today.  The Card Club is available until sold out.  It includes four kitted card projects (with written instructions), the full red rubber set and a private link to the card club project how-to video.  Check it out and order yours today!

WOO HOO! Red Rubber at Richard Garay Designs!

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm sharing a FUN card created using the BRAND NEW RED RUBBER stamps from Richard Garay Designs.  The Summer release is a showstopper full of gorgeous backgrounds as well as fun and unique stamp set designs!  They're available for pre-order now, and they will be shipped out to you in early August.

There is noting that compares to stamping with red rubber and this medium allows for crisp/detailed images stamped perfectly every time!  There's no need for double, triple or quadruple stamping on a stamp positioner...They are awesome!  I'm so excited that they are now available through Richard Garay Designs.  Check out the full Summer Release HERE.

I created this card featuring the new background stamp "Leafy Wall" and the adorable boho babies set "Yay Magical".
To start things off, I stamped the Leafy Wall using Rich Cactus ink onto Rich Cactus Sugar Stock and then stamped a Powdered Sugar Hexa Layers diecut with Tangy Apple ink.  After that, I stamped each one of the adorable baby animals using Black Taffy ink.  I colored the images with Copic markers and then fussy cut each one.  I mounted them on foam squares so that I could layer the images onto the dark green leafy panel.  Before mounting and assembling, I stamped the sentiment (added some color to the edges of the hexie and the sentiment with a blending brush), cut the edges in a pennant design.  Once everything was assembled, I attached some buttons and a Black Taffy twine bow.  I also flicked some black acrylic paint onto the panel to finish it off.
I layered the Rich Cactus panel onto a Powdered Sugar panel and then mounted that onto a Sour Pineapple card base.  SO FUN!

Richard Garay Designs July Card Club: Little Mermaid

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm sharing a fun card created using the exclusive "Little Mermaid" stamp set from Richard Garay Designs.  This set is available in the July 2020 Card Club Kit.  Are you a Card Club member?  If you are, you know these exclusive kits come with a stamp set, digital files, four kitted card projects with directions and a live online playdate to complete your monthly cards.  The price for your monthly subscription is pretty awesome too, right?  $27.99 a month?!  Yeah!  The VIP perks are also fun too!

If you aren't a Card Club subscriber, check out all the details HERE.

I decided to use a fun collection of images in this set to create my card.  Since there are several mermaids in this set, I had to decide which one to feature on my card.  I chose the "sitting" mermaid so that I could also provide her with a nice rock to sit on.  I colored all my images with Copic markers and what fun that was!
I also worked on adding a fun background that would help create some dimension and depth to my card.  I used Media Mixer and Sweet Blue Sugar Drops reinker to create a fun watery/sky background and then used some Dazzling Pat to add sparkle. I fussy cut all my images and added foam squares to them so that I could mount them onto the card panel.
To create the "window", I used the Hexa Layers dies to create a little wonky window.  Cutting them a little off center and cock-eyed was intentional to help add to the whimsy of my card.
After assembling the card front, I mounted it onto Tangy Orange Sugar Stock (mounted wonky) and then attached it to a Sweet Blue card base.

Copics Used:
B00, B12, BG34, YG41, BV00,
RV0000, RV42, R11, Y02, YR00, YR16, YR61
E50, C3, BV23,W-5, W-7

Bring on the Sunshine!!!

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm sharing a fun inky card I created using some awesome Richard Garay Designs products.  I wanted to use the fun stamp set that is on sale this month called "Good Girls"...in particular, the lady with the umbrella.  I thought the image was inspiring and encouraging and wanted to highlight the umbrella as the sunshine that comes after the storm.  Sooo...I colored up the image with Copics and fussy cut the image to set it aside.

Next, I started working on the background by using some Powdered Sugar Sugar Stock and the RG Call Gel Press mini plates (I used the thought bubble that resembles a cloud).  I applied media mixer and Sour Crush ink onto the Gel plate and then brayered it on to create a nice blend of color.  I pressed the plate onto the paper and lifted it to release the ink.  I did this several times overlapping the pressed images with color to create a nice layer of blue/white color.

After that, I splattered some Dazzling Pat (as well as Dazzling Pat mixed with Sour Mist Sugar Drops) to the paint and it created a nice water splattered effect- similar to the effects of Distress Inks with water...but...It has shimmer!
Next, I used a piece of mesh from some veggies I got from the grocery store and applied the Gel plate over that (brayered with the Media Mixer and Sour Crush Sugar Drops) and lifte it to reveal a fun textured look.
You can see where the mesh created a scale-like effect in the corner.
After finishing up the pressed panel, I cut the panel out to my liking and used machine stitching around the edges to help contain the design as well as finish it off.  After that, I started assembling the card (placing foam squares on the "girl").  I decided to add the bug car to the edge to coordinate more with the sentiment.
To finish the card off, I splattered some watered down white acrylic ink onto the panel and tucked the sentiment under the bug.  I mounted this panel onto a Powdered Sugar layer and then mounted the panel onto a Sour Pineapple card base.
So fun!  There are just a few more days to take advantage of the June special so make sure to hop over to the shop and pick up your sets HERE before they are gone.  Remember, If your order is $50 or more, you'll receive the fun Music On Digi set for FREE!

Music is POWER! Richard Garay Designs PERK!

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm sharing a fun card created using the special incentive digi set from Richard Garay Designs.  This digi set is called Music ON and it is available as a FREE download with a $50 purchase!

I merged a few parts of several sentiments together to create my custom sentiment and then printed some of the cassette tapes.  After printing, I colored them with some rainbowlicous Copic colors then fussy cut the images.  After that, applied some colored Dazzling Pat (I added sugar drops to bottles of reinker to get a custom rainbow color collection of Dazzling Pat).  I then splattered it onto the sentiment page and let dry.  I applied a bit of black acrylic ink splatter and then let it dry.

Next, I mounted the page onto a lime green panel and then mounted again onto a white card base.
