Richard Garay Designs July Card Club: Little Mermaid

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm sharing a fun card created using the exclusive "Little Mermaid" stamp set from Richard Garay Designs.  This set is available in the July 2020 Card Club Kit.  Are you a Card Club member?  If you are, you know these exclusive kits come with a stamp set, digital files, four kitted card projects with directions and a live online playdate to complete your monthly cards.  The price for your monthly subscription is pretty awesome too, right?  $27.99 a month?!  Yeah!  The VIP perks are also fun too!

If you aren't a Card Club subscriber, check out all the details HERE.

I decided to use a fun collection of images in this set to create my card.  Since there are several mermaids in this set, I had to decide which one to feature on my card.  I chose the "sitting" mermaid so that I could also provide her with a nice rock to sit on.  I colored all my images with Copic markers and what fun that was!
I also worked on adding a fun background that would help create some dimension and depth to my card.  I used Media Mixer and Sweet Blue Sugar Drops reinker to create a fun watery/sky background and then used some Dazzling Pat to add sparkle. I fussy cut all my images and added foam squares to them so that I could mount them onto the card panel.
To create the "window", I used the Hexa Layers dies to create a little wonky window.  Cutting them a little off center and cock-eyed was intentional to help add to the whimsy of my card.
After assembling the card front, I mounted it onto Tangy Orange Sugar Stock (mounted wonky) and then attached it to a Sweet Blue card base.

RV0000, RV42, R11, Y02, YR00, YR16, YR61

Sunday Sip and Share...Seas the Day

Hello there coffee loving friends!  It's Kerry here sharing a whimsical little coffee-loving card for you today! Did you know that mermaids drink coffee?  Yep, they do!  Here's a little lady with her first cup of the day in her favorite shell mug.  I had such a ball creating this little card and I hope you like it too. You can find this stamp set at Joy Clair Stamps.  It's called Seas The Day.

To create this little cutie, I selected some watercolors and some sparkle to give her some pop. Mermaids have to be sparkly to maintain their full effect, right?   I cut one of her braids off so that I would have room for a hand-doodled coffee mug.  After cutting and assembling the mermaid, I rubbed a bit of seafoam green PanPastel over the card base then drew a slight wave pattern with my Zig pen along the card edge.  This allowed me to break up the linear aspect of the card and helped add to the whimsy.  I added a strip of aqua sparkle washi to the inside card flap to add some additional fun!

Her sparkles are sparkly, aren't they!!!  I just LOVE this little girl!  Adding some glossy accents and some sparkle over the water doodles helps add dimension and add fun to the card base.

Just a little doodle here and there because this stamp set just screamed for more.  :)

Sparkle, Sparkle, Sparkle!!!  I love sparkle!
***I'd like to congratulate Wendy for winning the February Sip and Share challenge!  Her creations for the sketches were so deliciously colorful and fun!  Check them out on her blog!  I'll reach out to her to get her mailing information so that her coffee-loving prize can be on the way soon!
