Give Thanks! New Richard Garay Red Rubber!

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm sharing a Fall/festive card featuring two new red rubber sets from Richard Garay Designs (now 88andClear!). I had a ton of fun playing with the yummy new Tight Plaid background and the pretty leafy set Thankful Blessed.  

To create my background, I kept the background stamp on it's carrier sheet and used some Vanilla Cream ink directly from the pad onto the stamp.  I didn't completely apply ink all over the stamp image- just in some areas so that the edges and parts softened up.  I then took some sugar drops reinkers (Tangy Gum and Rich Tangerine) onto a  clear sheet and used a dry baby wipe to dab it over the inked stamp in random locations.  After that, I pressed some Powdered Sugar Cardstock onto the inked stamp and peeled it off.  I added some clear embossing powder to it before adding a bit more blending.  

After creating the background, I cut it at an angle so that I could create a space for the sentiment.  After stamping the give thanks sentiment onto a piece of white cardstock,  I glued the background panel onto another piece of white cardstock so that the sentiment could peek through.  I then attached two strips of machine stitched cardstock onto the edges to finish that off.  I splattered some black ink as well as Dazzling Pat mixed with reinkers to complete this panel. 

To finish things off, I stamped the leaves from the Thankful Blessed set onto a piece of cardstock that had the two ink colors blended on it.  I fussy cut these leaves and then assembled them onto the card with an array of fun embellishments and some yummy twine.  I mounted this panel onto a Rich Tangerine panel and then popped it up onto a Tangy Gum card base (topfold).

Not quite CAS- RGStudio360 Fall Wreath

 Hey there inky friends!  I'm blogging one more card featuring the gorgeous stamp/digi set called "Fall Wreath".  This set is available in DIGI form AND CLEAR STAMP form.  When you purchase the stamp set, you automatically receive the digital download...FREE!  To create this card, I cropped and assembled various leaves into a Word Document to create a falling leaves background.  I added the sentiment onto this design as well.  I overlapped some of the leaves onto each other as well as on the sentiment to to make the design seamless.  Once I was happy with my layout, I printed the document and started coloring.  I used Neocolor2 Aquarelle watercolor pastels to color the paper and then flicked some black watercolor onto the background too. 

 Since none of my cards go "naked", I added some taupe seam binding and some black twine and then layered a few spare leaves from my previous projects.  To cover the assemblage of leaves, I mounted a few real pine cone seeds on top for that natural element.  I love adding real nature to my fall cards!  How about you???

Finally, I applied my stamped panel to a square card base.  Fenito Bandito!

Thank You! Falling For You with RGStudio360

Hey there inky friends!  I'm back with another fall themed card featuring the deeeeelish stamp/digi set from RGStudio360 called "Fall Wreath".  I was inspired to create another project featuring the beautiful leaves in this set and pulled my design inspiration from the RGStudio360 Community (Facebook) Mood Board Challenge #8.  If you're not a part of the group, make sure to request to join!  It's full of awesome inspiration and fun challenges!  Take a look at this mood board and see how many pieces I incorporated into my card creation!  What do you spy?  The colors?  Can you see all of them?  How about the burlap?  Falling Leaves?  Perhaps you can see a hint of those boards?  Lots and lots of inspriation!  

To create my card, I started out by blending a bit of light greenish-blue ink onto the cream card panel and then mounted a piece of pumpkin colored paper that I tore a bit.  I flicked some of the Neocolor2 Aquarelle watercolor onto this panel using a super-fine paint brush.  Next, I added a tiny strip of dark green cardstock to the top of this layer and then added the satin ribbon and the burlap ribbon. 

Next, I proceeded to assemble my leaf cluster from the "Fall Wreath" digi set onto the card and around the ribbon to mimic my idea of tossing leaves into the air and letting them softly float on down. Some leaves were directly glued while others were popped onto the card  panel with foam squares.   Remember, this set is available in DIGI and CLEAR STAMP FORM! 

Finally, I added some golden thread and fussy cut the thank you sentiment.  I applied a bit of the same greenish-blue ink onto this sentiment with my finger and then applied some glossy accents to give a little more dimension.  This sentiment was mounted onto the card panel with some foam squares.  I mounted this panel onto a green card base. 

WAHOO!  That's two pretty fall cards created with this gorgeous stamp/digi set!  Next up, another-more CAS style card, more "flat", more simple.  Come back tomorrow to see my final card featuring this gorgeous stamp/digi set! 

Raking leaves in the DARK!

Boy, it's sad when you have to resort to raking leaves in the dark! I absolutely had to rake my front yard this week since the leaves have been piling up for a couple weeks now. I have been away several weekends in a row so when I came home tonight, I knew it HAD to get done tonight or it would have to wait ANOTHER WEEK! I know I'll be raking more since the trees haven't lost all their leaves, so it'll be back to the raking next weekend too, I'm afraid. Thank goodness I have a small yard!
I did have a chance in the wee hours this morning to make a little gift box up. I deconstructed a little gift box I got from a student last year (and saved to make a template) and had a good time decorating this box. I used stamp sets and dies from Heartfelt Creations Fall collection to make the box and tag.
