Happy 4th Of July USA!!!

Hello stamping friends.  I'm celebrating the Fourth of July at home with my pups this year.  Nearby family is away cruising the Caribbean so that leaves me home alone with the pups.  I've spent the day relaxing, sipping homemade cappuccino and stamping.

I wanted to share a few cards I made while tucked away in my stamping room today.  I'm determined to use my stash and play with much forgotten and unloved stamps...

Here's your traditional RED, WHITE, BLUE card...with some added bling and yellow.
Ink Used:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Ladybug, Dandilion, Danube Blue
Kraft Cardstock
Silver flatback beads
Silver cording

And for a little twist:
Stamps Used:  Unity splatters and stars all boy
Inks Used:  Hero Arts Neon Cube set

Brrrrrr....Penguin Doodles....

Here's the final Christmas Card design I sent out for 2012.  When I got this little UNITY penguin in the mail (one of my Stamp of the Week treats), I just smiled because I knew exactly who would be getting ONE of these babies...I wonder if she knows it's still sitting on my kitchen table because I lost her address in my missing address book.  It'll wait, wait, wait until I get that address!!!  As for the other 11 penguins in this set, I'm sure they're having a blast tossing those snowballs all over the USA!
CUTE!  Black, red and white...Perfect little minty treat!
TWINE....MMMMMMM....

See you again!

Mom's Birthday...

This card was created for my Mom's birthday on September 5.  Yep, the photos I took have been sitting in my camera for MONTHS!!! Oh well!  I'm glad the camera keeps them safe and secure until I'm ready to load them here!
I really love this blossom stamp from Unity.  It is one of my weekly treats in my mailbox so I thought it would be fun to use it on her card.  Not sure if they are cherry blossoms or apple blossoms, but either way, they're pretty in peachy pink!

Stamps:  Unity:  WIB-357 Lovely Day
Ink:  Versafine Vintage Sepia, Distress Antique Linen
Paper:  Canson Watercolor; Brown Bazzill; Coral DCWV; Tan, White ribbed texture:  The Paper Co.,
Embossing Powder:  a la Mode, Hampton Art
Copics:  RV42, R22; YG25
Prima Flowers
Gold Cording

I'll be back soon with additonal cards created during my bloggy hiatus...

Delayed...

Here is a card I made back at the beginning of September.  I took pictures knowing that they would eventually be blogged, but I didn't think it would take THIS LONG to get them posted!  WOAH!!!

I used a few different itty bitty stamps from Unity to create the extra long card.  Their anniversary is September 7, so I tried to incorporate that into the card.  I like the crisp black that the Versafine ink creates.
I also used some Canson Watercolor paper to stamp the images on.  I decided to use this paper because I wanted the blue ink to be a bit grainy and muted and I thought I could achieve that best by using the "grainy" surface to my advantage.

Paper:  Canson Watercolor, Black CS:  Recollections, White CS:  Copic XPressIt
Patterned Paper:  EK Success "One &Only EKWP005 (I Do Wedding Collection)
Ink:  Versafine Onyx, VersaMagic Sea Breeze
Embossing Powder:  Clear:  a la mode Hampton Art
Pen:  Micron .05

I'll be back tomorrow to share another pretty (Unity stamps) card created in September.

See ya!

Happy Fourth of July!!!

Hello Stamping friends!!!  I'm sitting here ROASTING as I have no AC (I am avoiding the inevitable purchase of a new unit) and thought I would post a card I made for the Fourth of July.  I REALLY need to think about moving to a colder climate like ANTARCTICA or something because I can't stand this heat!!!  I'm definitely NOT a summer person!!!

This year, I have not made any plans but will probably spend time with family down the road having a BBQ.  Sheesh, I haven't even checked to see if they will be in town.  Oh well, if not, I'll have my own little celebration at home.  I'm headed to my school library to read to the kiddos (open library this summer) on July 3 so that limits my travel a bit.  It's ok...  I'm kind-of enjoying the loafing around I've been doing this summer but its gotta stop sometime.   I've got a lot to do with my house, so I've got to get crackin'!
I selected a Jillibean Soup stamp set from UNITY called Game day Chili.  It's a great set and I've used it on several different occasions.  I'm going a little bit CAS with this card too, stepping away from all the pizzazz (except for that sparkly star).
Other Products Used: Memento Ink:  Dandelion, Ladybug, Danube Blue, Martha Stewart Glitter (Sterling and Gold), Glossy Accents (as glue for glitter), White cardstock, Bazzill Yellow, Red and Blue papers, yellow ribbon from Michaels.

Hope you have a wonderful Fourth of July!!!   STAY COOL!

Babies, Babies, Babies...

Happy Saturday stamping friends!  I'm spending today cleaning my stamp room and decided to stop and take a break to make a baby card for one of the Art teachers at my school.  Her baby shower is this Monday and I told my team I would make the card.  I decided to make a not-so-traditional baby card this time.
I combined a few stamp sets to make this card.  The first set selected was a UNITY background set called Dots for Sure.  I used some Kaleidacolor Sea Breeze ink with the dots.  The next set was an itty bitty set called Splatters and Stars (must be discontinued because I can't find it in their store).  I stamped the stars with Memento Dandelion ink.  Of course you know me, added some Diamond Stickles to make those stars SPARKLY!  I didn't have a UNITY sentiment that would work for this baby card so I pulled out my big box of Studio G clear dollar stamps for the sentiment and stamped it with Versafine Onyx then heat embossed with clear EP. This "Bundle of Joy" sentiment is from Series 16/19 and it was the perfect fit for the card.  My cards are never missing a touch of ribbon and I think the yellow just pops on this card!
Copic colors added were:  Y15 Cadmium Yellow (perfect match to the Memento ink) and some highlighting around the sentiment with B0000 (you can't see the highlighting due to my need to BLOW OUT the image in editing...It needed to be BRIGHT!)

I'm excited for the next few weeks to come...SUMMER and more stamping time available!  Keep your eyes peeled!

Happy Birthday, MEGAN!

Hi again, back to share the card I created for my niece.  Hope she liked it.  I know she liked what was tucked inside!  LOL
Yummy cupcakes!  I just love this adorable little cupcake.  Worked perfectly with some old TAC patterned paper (Tutti Fruti).  I love the happy colors too.  Perfect for a little birthday treat!
Stamps used were from UNITY, Stamp of the Week.

Happy Birthday Alex!

Hello!
I'm back to share a simple little birthday card made for my nephew.  I hope you like it ALEX!  The balloons are one of the Unity Stamp of the Week stamps.  Sorry, didn't keep track of the Copic colors.

I wasn't happy that the red and yellow color on the balloons bled.  I tried pushing it back into the balloon, but red and yellow are SO hard to get rid of...Oh well, added some stippling in the background to try to minimize the bleed!

I'll be back tomorrow with another birthday card created for my niece.

Hello there, stranger!

Hey stamping friends!

It's been quite a while since my last post.  Things have been CRAZY busy with school coming to an end.  I'm not done with school yet but the students have finished their state testing. Now we're in the home-stretch and there are a few more weeks to go.

This Memorial Day weekend I spent time with family and celebrated THREE birthdays.  I hadn't worked in my stamping room for several weeks but I knew I needed to make some cards especially for them.  I decided to use my Unity Stamp of the Week stamps to create these cards.  I REALLY need to get them inky because they've been piling up in a box without even seeing the light of day!

I'm going to spread these three cards out over the next few days.  Instead of posting them all in one post, I'll give each one its own spotlight!

So here's the first of three birthday cards:  This one is for my older sister. She's a beachy kinda gal!

Now, sorry for not keeping track of all my supplies and Copics used on this card.  I did use some twill tape, an old Cuttlebug folder.  Hope you enjoy!

New Unity in the house!!!

Hey stamping friends!  Just stopping by to share a few cards created today from my new Unity sets that arrived this past week.  I'm loving the day off...fun crafty time!

The first card was created for Asela Hopkins' son.  She's a typical mommy worrier...Her son is in Boot Camp and called to chat.  He needs a little pick me up as he's been through the ringer.  I hope my card motivates him to press on...

GO FOR IT!
This card was created using My Minds Eye 6x6 pad called Away We Go.  I love the arrow paper and it just fits so well with the Boot Camp theme.  The images were stamped using Memento inks.  As you can see, I distressed it up a bit with Ranger distress ink (Tea Dye) and a bit of fingernail crinkling.  Stamps by Unity for Jillybean Soup:  GAME DAY CHILI
Here's another little card created using a few sets and some scraps...  I'm trying to make some simple cards, and am finding I tend to add more and more and more...Restraint is not my thing, but I'm trying!
This is a closer peek at the banner.  Love this banner and the ability to paper piece it with the patterned paper I chose:  My Minds Eye HAPPIER.  Again, chose the stamps Game Day Chili and the dotty background and a little clear sentiment from Studio G.
Of course I HAD to add a little bling, some lace, some twine from The Twinery and a little LIME RIBBON from my stash!!!
Have a great day!  See you back here Wednesday!!!

Unity Stamp of the week "Happy Couple"...

Hey stamping friends,

I'm here today to share a little card I made this weekend with my new UNITY Stamp of the Week set that came in the mail on Friday.  I know there will be LOTS more posted in the future with this fabulous "Happy Couple"  Set (set #2 in the Stamp of the Week collection).

When the announcement for the special UNITY Stamp of the Week promotion began, I jumped at the opportunity to get such an inexpensive treat in my mailbox each week.  A few weeks ago, my first installment arrived (FIRST EVER UNITY PURCHASE/STAMPS) and I was WOWED by the quality...and the PERKS!

SO today, I hope you enjoy this little treat I created.  Stop by in a few days for more of my UNITY creations.
This card was created with my BASICS.   Yep, black and kraft cardstock, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain ink, cranberry cardstock, yummy ribbon and some "Lovey Dovey" embellishments...

Other materials added -but difficult to see in photos are Copper Shimmer Spritz and Tuxedo Black Fireworks Spray.
