TCP Sneaky Peek Week...Stuck on YOU!

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm joining some of my fellow Cat Packers as we begin SNEAK PEEK WEEK!  This first day of Sneak Peek week is so fun and I decided to put a little twist on this new set.  A FESTIVE TWIST!

Today we're sneakin' a peek of the new "Stuck On You" set!  You can purchase the stamp AND die bundle HERE! It's such an adorable prickly set and I decided to put a little Christmas treat twist on it!  Each little giftie envelope is ready to be tucked into the tree...All that's needed is some CASH-OLA!
To create my giftie envies, I stamped the Kawaii-ish cactus with Copic markers and then doodled some Christmas lights on the tall cacti.  I also added some lights across the top to add to the festive flair.
After coloring the cactus plants, I fussy cut them and then watercolored some white paper with aqua ink and mounted that onto a piece of pink cardstock.  I wrapped some tinsel ribbon around it to give some sparkle.

Hop over to the TCP Blog to check out the other sneaks that are being shared today!

Oh the Places You'll Go...Dr. Seuss Day craft with Joy Clair

Hey there crafty friends!  I'm back with a fun little project to inspire you for the upcoming school holiday:  Read Across America Day!  I love this holiday because it embraces the love of reading and adds a little fun with the festive shenanigans of Dr. Seuss and his fun-loving characters.

At my school, we celebrate this fun holiday with a ton of Seussical adventures!  We invite special community guest readers to our classroom, do fun thematic academic activities, make fun themed crafts and dress up in our best Seuss-inspred regalia.  It's a blast!

Every year, I give my kiddos a very special gift to continue to inspire them to read and be writers.  I give them a little book...an empty book for them to fill with their inspirations, their dreams, their joys, their sorrows.  Whatever they are inspired to scribe inside.  So this year, I'm tucking these little books into a fun little red striped gift bag with these images on the outside.  LOVE LOVE LOVE that Joy Clair created the perfect set to coordinate with this event!  Going Places IS the perfect Seuss set!
I can't wait to share these little gifties with my kiddos!

I hope this project inspires you to get crafty!

I selected to feature the adorable stamp set called Deer Friends.  It's a great little set that is perfect for coloring and includes three cute little critters, some leafy elements, some woodsy items and a mixture of words with fun fonts!

I created this adorable little gift bag for a friend.  The glassine bag looks awesome against the metallic shine of the Rinea foil, don't you think?  Let me quickly share how I created my little giftie!

I first rubbed the Ghost Ink over the edge of the Rinea foil.  I used the Teal/Gold foil from the Peacock Variety Pack.  I let it air dry for about a minute or so and then took a dry paper towel and rubbed the teal color off.  This ink works wonders and using it always reminds me of when I remove my fingernail polish with fingernail polish remover!  HA HA!  It has no scent- so that is a perk!
So after I rubbed off the blue, I stamped the leafy vine onto the Ghost pad and stamped directly over the paper.  I wanted to create a layered effect.  After that, I stamped the same image over that with black ink.
The next step was to score about a half inch space from the bottom of the foil and used my scissors to fringe the bottom.  I wanted my foil to have a fringed look to give added texture as well as help the gold color on the back peek through!

I attached the foil panel to a piece of white cardstock for extra "sturdy" support and then attached it to the glassine bag.
I stamped and colored the little fox using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and my Copic markers then cut it out.  I added a little heart to his chest because I though he needed it.  :)  Next, I tied some orange and teal Hemptique twine around the bag.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of white cardstock cut into a pennant shape with Memento Black ink and VersaClair ink.  I popped the fox and the tag onto the bag with foam squares and filled up my gift bag with some crinkle paper and a new pad of Rinea Ghost Ink.  Now, I have a sweet treat to gift a friend!  Please head on over to Angie's blog to see her newest creation!

Heartfelt Wednesday...

Here's a little gift bag I created using some of the Basket collection and the AWESOME flower background stamp!!!  It's actually a poinsettia background set but it works so well as an everyday background too!!!
This little pocket on the front can hold a tag or a gift card (or CASH).
Did a little stitching on the "pocket" to give it a little more finishing and also to hold the front flap down without the use of glue.
The little tag was stamped with the basketweave background and then cut with the basket die.  It is snipped along the edge of the handle so it can slide on and off of the bag.

HCPC 3413 Basketweave Background

HCPC 3411 Woven Basket Precut Set
HCD 714 Decorative Layered Basket
998X Holly Background
Zip Dry Glue

Other items used:

Versafine Sepia Versafine Onyx (Dry pad)
Ranger Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Bazzill Cardstock
cream cardstock
Small Kraft Gift Bag
Clear Embossing powder
Fancy Trim
Gold and Blue Tulle
Black Sewing machine thread
Gold Ribbon

Attach fancy trim to top of gift bag. Cut two baskets from die and cream cardstock. Stamp one basket with Sepia ink using the basketweave stamp and emboss with clear ink. Distress with black dry pad and vintage photo ink. Use mat knife to cut out "hole" in basketweave. Tie ribbon around basket. Distress other basket diecut then glue both baskets together. cut one side of basket handle to slip onto bag handle. Stamp Holly background onto rust cardstock using sepia ink. Emboss then distress. Stitch edge around bottom then fold top flap down. Stitch along top of fold to keep flap secure. Distress. attach tulle to strip of scrap paper then attach to holly background "pocket" using zip dry glue. Attach "pocket" by adding glue only around outside and bottom edge. Insert remaining tulle inside bag for filler.
