Flutter By...Gracie's feathers...

Hey there inky friends!  Just popping in before I head out to shop at the Scrapbook Expo!  I decided before I go, I'd clean up my crafty workspace and use up some scrappy strips I've been collecting on my table.  Do you save your scrappy strips?  I do and usually spend Sunday's creating strippy backgrounds like this one.  They make great card background panels!

I had a few digi images cut and sitting on the table too so I shuffled through them and found the perfect images/sentiment for this panel.  The digi images in Graciellie's Flutter Away set are so pretty.  I love the fonts in the sentiments too!  Did you know that she's offering this set (and the coordinating paper collection) for an awesome bundle price this week?  Check it out HERE.
This card was assembled pretty quickly since I had almost everything pre-cut and at the ready.  All I had to do was glue the strips onto a white panel, I stitched the border (in hindsight, I wish I wouldn't have done that) and colored the feather.  I assembled the card and also incorporated some ribbon/twine that I had in my scrap pile.
So now, my desk is clear and ready for another mess-making adventure!  WOO HOO!

Spring is in the air! Graciellie Designs Digi Delights!

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm sharing a springy card featuring a few of my favorite digital designs by Graciellie Designs.  I decided to bring a little spring cheer into my crafty room!  This card features a sentiment from the Your Kindness digital set and the printed paper  design from the Flutter Away Digi Paper Pack.
Your Kindness Digi Set $3.92

Flutter Away Digi Paper Pack $6.50
To create my design, I applied a circle to a MS Word document, set the sentiment over the circle by resizing and layering and then grabbed the digital paper design (shrinking the design) and laid it onto the paper.  Once printed, I was able to cut out the sentiment circle and diecut an oldie but goodie QuickCutz flower from the printed paper.  I used a pre-made kraft diecut from my stash as a backer for my little collage.
I felt the card was a bit bare so before laying down the flowers and sentiment panel, I added some drybrushing of ivory acrylic paint and some white splatters.  After punching some holes with my Crop-a-Dile, I was able to attach some natural and color coordinated twine to the sentiment panel and the background kraft panel.
To finish off the card, I attached some faceted bling and mounted my panel onto dark teal cardstock and then onto a white card base (with a topfold).

Finished and ready to send to a special someone!

Thanks for popping by today!  I hope you were inspired by this springy creation!  See you soon!

Flutter with Graciellie's newest designs "Flutter Away"...

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm thrilled to share a little card I created featuring the newest Digi stamps in Graciellie's online shop.  This collection of digi stamps and papers were so inspiring (as are all of her stamps) and I REALLY loved the color palette she has in her coordinating paper line!  I decided to use some of the colors in her paper palette when designing my card.

To create this card, I just opened up a Microsoft Word file and started with a 4.00x5.25 rectangle.  I arranged the two feathers over this rectangle so that they would appear to be flying all over the page.  I also wanted a few of the feathers to escape the edge of the rectangle, so I made sure to purposefully place them breaking the boundary of the rectangle.  After I was satisfied with the layout, I created a smaller rectangle and placed the sentiment inside.  I printed and cut the rectangles out so that I could move on to coloring!
Flutter Away Digi Stamp Set ON SALE NOW!

WOW!!!  I just LOVE that the cost of these digital downloads are less expensive than ONE CARD purchased from a store.  That's pretty amazing!

There were just a few Copic colors used on this card.  They included:  BG01, FBG2, YG13, Y04, C-3 and a bright red...I put it back before I remembered to take note of the number.  oops.  After coloring, I applied some clear microfine glitter and attached some sequins.

To finish off the card, I mounted the colored panel onto a piece of neon lime green cardstock and then mounted the whole panel onto a coordinating teal card base.
Before attaching the sentiment, I added some golden thread and mounted the sentiment over that.

So fun!  I'm in love with the sentiments in this set and have another project in the works.  It'll be posted soon so make sure to come back again real soon.  Thanks so much for hopping over.  I hope you have a fabulous week!
