Hello and welcome to the second day of the Joy Clair August product Inspiration blog hop. I hope you enjoyed yesterday's hop and I'm excited to share another card with you. If you've arrived here from Helen's blog, you're on the right track, if not, I've included the blog roll so you can just jump right in!
This time, I've created with a gorgeous set from the Color By Faith collection called Salt and Light. It is a beautiful set with sentiments from John and Matthew and some amazing coordinating images. I have so many plans for this set so you'll have to stop back again to check out more creations.
To make this card, I started out by creating a yummy background using a Kaleidacolor pad (Fruitcake). I love the blend of colors it creates. How did I do the background? Well, it was quite simple. I first stamped the Kaleidacolor pad onto a stamp block then spritzed it with water. After that, I transferred the image onto my Gelli Plate and lifted a few prints from it. I got about six or seven background prints from one inking! So yummy. The ink was dried immediately so I was able to ink up the world image and using my Misti, I stamped the image twice onto the colored panel.
After that, I cut the panel to the size I liked, added some gold paint splatter and then moved on to the image. Since the lightbulb already had a sentiment on it, I opted to just color the lightbulb with watercolor pencils and cover it with Glossy Accents.
The next step was to add a bit of tissue paper to the edge, a strip of hot pink cardstock to the opposite edge, some machine stitching, and re-applied the printed strip underneath. I also popped the panel up on foam squares to give a little more dimension.
Before I called it quits on this card, I applied a few droplets of glaze onto the colored panel and added some golden bling.
I hope you enjoyed this creation. I loved making it and can't wait to share more projects using the background papers that remain. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop! Please continue hopping by visiting Lindsay's blog next. If you visit all blog stops on the hop and leave a comment each time, you'll be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to the Joy Clair shop!
