Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm sharing a card I created for my dad for this year's Father's Day card.  I was excited to see this new digital set called "Barbecue King" from Graciellie Design and I knew it was going to be the set I'd use to create my dad's card.
My dad loves to grill STEAK.  He's not much of a chicken person because it reminds him too much of his young adult life when he worked at a chicken facility.  He says he just can't get the "smell" and grossness out of his mind.  Sooo...we try to steer clear of chicken when he's around.  HA HA.
I do love a good shish-kabob and I think my favorite it marinated chicken, beef and yummy pineapple.

Alrighty!  Hope you enjoyed seeing this card.  I'm off to visit my dad for a short while.  Happy Father's Day!

Revvvv Your Engines...Father's Day Fun!

Hello there card making friends!  It's Kerry here and I'm joining my fellow Joy Clair Design team members as we share some of our fun Father's Day Creations.  We wanted to have a head start on prepping for Father's Day with a brand spankin' new set called Classic Father's Day.   This is such a fun set with two classic roadsters and lots of masculine-fun text sentiments!  I love the flames too!

My dad loves to watch the Mecum Auto Auctions on TV and has attended one or two in my lifetime but I think if he could, he would attend every event he could possibly attend.  I'm sure he wouldn't mind rolling a few of the beauties onto the auction block too!  This stamp set, made me remember all the times we have watched those auctions, challenging him with our predictions of how high they will sell or if they will meet reserve.  SO fun!
I stamped the hot rod onto white cardstock using my Misti.  After inking it a few times to get a super crisp impression, I colored the image with my Copic Markers.  I then fussy cut it and applied some Glaze and let it sit to dry while I worked on the other parts of the card.

I stamped the flames in black (because I wanted to create a bold graphic look and wanted the car to be the show stopper).  using my Misti and then mounted that panel onto some yellow cardstock.  I then flicked some black and red ink onto it to make some splatter.  I mounted this panel "wonky style" onto a red card base using some foam squares.
To finish the card off, I attached some "checkered flag" ribbon onto the card and then mounted the car onto the stamped panel using foam squares.  AWESOME.  I stamped the sentiment "Happy Father's Day" on the inside of the card.

I hope you've enjoyed this card creation.  Please stop over and check out the other creations my teamies have shared!  :)

Dad's Day with Joy Clair...

Hello there stamping friends!  Today I'm joining my fellow Joy Clair design teammates in sharing a fun set...All about Dads!
Dad's Day is a fun and punny clear stamp set that will be sure to make you (and your Pops) chuckle. It includes a ribbon, a golfy stamp, a popsicle stamp, a Star Wars stamp, a bomb and a yummy ribbon.

To create a special card for my dad, I selected the ribbon and the bomb.  Take a peek at my creation process.
First I stamped the ribbon two times using my Misti.  I used some daubers to colorize the ribbon. After all was colored, I cut out the ribbons and punched the center of the rosette using a 1 inch circle punch.  I fussy cut the ribbon and assembled the pieces to create a dimensional Dad's ribbon.
After assembling the ribbon, I started working on the background panel.  I added a bit of the same colors using my craft mat and then some splattered color was added with a paint brush.
Here are a few close up shots of the finished card:  So delish!
I love how the splatter created that awesome background.  The added fringe made it a bit whimsical and added to the dimension and texture I was trying to achieve.
Deeelllish!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you are enjoying all of the yummy creations the DT has shared today.  We hope you are inspired and if you love the set as much as we do, please show your love by purchasing Dad's Day in the Joy Clair Store!
