TCP New Release Day!

Hello there inky friends!  Today is the day we're hopping and sharing inspiration featuring all the goodies in the January The Cat's Pajamas release.  I hope you've enjoyed all the inspiration and I'll be watching for some fun projects from YOU!  So please make sure to share your creations all over blogland and on FB and on IG!

I created a little memory box book using the cute new Easter/Spring diecuts.  When open, the accordion book contains six flaps for photos.  I can't wait to gift it to someone special.  I also created a coordinating tag for the outside that the recipient can personalize with a white pen.  

The Accordion book is attached (on the last page) to the bottom of the box so it does not come out. When the lid is applied, it can be wrapped with ribbon to close it securely.

Sneaky Peek #4: Follow the Bunny!

Hello there inky friends!  Today I'm joining my fellow TCP Cat Packers as we share another fun SNEAKY PEEK with you before the official release on Tuesday.  Today marks DAY 4 of our sneaks and it includes an adorable Easter/Spring set called:  "Follow The Bunny!". It includes several bunny, chick, egg and floral images as well as some fun sentiments.  I selected a few of my favorite images to create this adorable little treat container.  I made/designed the container using my Silhouette quite a while ago and had it in my stash just waiting for the right time to use it.  Unfortunately, I created this treat container on my old computer that went kaput so I can't access the file anymore.  I guess that means I'll have to design another.  Anyway, I used the little cut piece to create a little treat container.  Before folding and assembling, I stamped it with some easter eggs and the little chicks.  

After stamping the container, I glued it together and filled it with green sparkly tissue paper.  Next, I colored the cute bunny and chicks using Copics and colored pencils.  After fussy cutting them, I decided I needed another "layer" on my container so I diecut some flowers using the fun flower die "Petal Posie CutUps"

After cutting out the diecuts, I tied the flower around the treat container using some white seam binding and then attached the images using foam squares.  I then stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and attached the sentiment to a bamboo stick.  Then I attached a few more of the flower dies.  I placed the sentiment stick into the treat container and proceeded to open a bag of chocolate...for photographing, yeah.  Just for the photo-op!  ;)

So that's that!  I created a cute little Easter treat container and sampled the chocolate just to make sure it was acceptable.  HA HA.

One little Piggie...Two Little Piggies...Three Little Piggies...TCP Sneaky Peek!

Hey there inky friends!  Today we're celebratin' the YEAR OF THE PIG at The Cat's Pajamas and we're doing it up in style.  We've got an adorable little piggie set and die set that'll work perfectly for all your piggie needs!  This cutie-patootie set will be available soon so we're giving you a sneak peek today!  Check out all the SNEAKS HERE!

I created a card featuring several of the images in this adorable Year of the Pig set.  I am imagining this little piggie princess trying to convince her coffee loving piggie pal to give her a little sip...Well, Piggie Pal wants to "Be an Angel Piggie" so he obliges!  

I paired up this piggie pal collection with the fun new Rectangular Postage stamp die set.  This die is fabulous and cuts three frames and a fun little leaf.  Notice the little posies on the blue background paper?  That little image comes from the piggie set too.  I just stamped some paper with clear pigment ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  It gives a fun little touch of shine and dimension to the card too.  

In creating my little scene, I doodled a little sun to tuck into my framed panel.  I also used some light Copics to create the fun sky background.  It's very faint, but if you look closely, you might be able to pick up the color.

To finish up the project, I created a coordinating envie so that this card can be shipped off in style!  Remember, our TCP Tuesday Challenge #355 (Decorate an envie) ends soon so make sure you join the fun for a chance to win!

RG Studio 360 Weekly Bundle: Easter Blessings

Hello there inky friends!  Today's card features the gorgeous new release set called Amazing Grace.  This set is included in this week's fabulous trio of stamps in this week's bundle "Easter Blessings"!  It's sure to sell out QUICK so head over to the shop to pick it up for a 24 hour discount of 15%! 

To create my card, I started out by creating my background.  To achieve the background, I applied ink  (Sour Guava, Sour Mist and Rich Honey) to the floral stamp in the Gain Balance stamp set, spritzed it with water and brushed off much of the ink with a paint brush before stamping onto the Vanilla Cream cardstock.  I then used the diamond stamp in this set and stamped over the background with Powdered Sugar ink.  After I was satisfied with the design, I flicked ink over the image with a small brush then brushed some ThermoWeb Transfer Medium over this design in random strokes.  I applied a strip of Opal Deco Foil over this and ran the whole thing through my laminator.  Once removed, this background panel revealed an opalescent shimmer and shine that was translucent over the background. 

To finish the background panel, I machine stitched all around the edge and set it aside so that I could work with the cross that I had printed from the digital file (I copied and resized to my preference) and cut out. 

Next, I started working on the digital version of the cross I had printed from my computer.  I painted the flowers and the twigs with Sugar Drops (same colors as the pads) diluted with water and in some locations blended with Ivory acrylic paint.  Sugar Drops are just fabulous medium for my mixed media projects!  I love that I can mix it with so many other medium!  Just take a look at the background below.  You'll notice the brushstrokes left behind as they are opalescent strokes now. 

Once painted and dry (this combination of inks/paints dried almost immediately), I applied some microfine glitter.  I then added some foam squares to the cross and started to assemble the card. 
I mounted this panel onto a card base of Sour Mist cardstock. 

National Craft Month FUN!

Hey there stamping friends!  It's Kerry here and I've got a sweet little layered Easter card to share with you today.  I'm joining the fun this month for National Craft Month and you know, I've just gotta get my craft on!  Soooo...Today, I'm sharing a crafty layered card inspired by the challenge "LAYERS" on the Right at Home blog.  This theme was right up my alley as you probably know me and my creations include layers and layers and layers.  I love layers!  

Since I only have one collection of stamps from Right at Home, I had to dig into my stash of stamps to find something festive and fun!  I just got this plaid paper pack from Lawn Fawn and knew this print would pair nicely with the scalloped card base.  Next, I dug deep to find a fun little bunny to go with the pastels.  I found it in the cute little HELLO SPRING stamp set by A Creative Journey with Melissa.  To color the bunny and carrot, I LAYERED Copic Coloring with colored pencils to create just the perfect touch of color. 

Yes, I love to color so this was fun creating with both medium.  After coloring, I fussy cut the images and mounted them onto the card panel (and the oval diecut). I stamped the little eggs onto the plaid paper and added a bit of sparkle too.  

Of course, I just HAD to add a bit of machine stitching on the card layers too!

Do the Bunny Hop!

Hey there coffee friends!  Welcome back to my blog.  I hope you're having a grand time hopping along in the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  There are sooo many amazing creations posted thus far and we're definitely on track to smash last season's record!  

I thought I'd share a little card I created using an image I drew and digitized.  This is one of my first images digitized myself so it's a bit pixelated and blurry due to the type of pen I originally drew with. Next time, I'll have a crisp/clean image, I hope!  

In any case, it was fun to watercolor this image and mount it onto a card.   I'll be sending this card to my parents for Easter, as I know they won't be too picky on the image quality.  LOL

Heartfelt Wednesdays...The Cross...

Hey stamping friends...I'm back for another Heartfelt Wednesday with a card that really touches my heart.  The NEWEST release is a beautiful Easter/Sympathy collection and I just LOVE that it includes some of my families most favorite flowers:  Lilies.  I particularly love the "stinky-Funeral Home" ones my Grand parents would say...You know, the beautiful white ones with hints of creamy yellow and pink...I just LOVE them.  Yes they have a BOLD aroma, and YES, I love the smell...

Directions:  Emboss white card layer with embossing folder then distress with dry ink pad, layer onto pink cardstock, sew with sewing machine, tie ribbon and attach to card base with glue.  Stamp Lily cross with Versafine, emboss with powder and color with Copics.  Cut pink cardstock with cross die.  Adhere cross to diecut with dimensional glue dots and adhere to card.

Easter Blessings...

Today I'm sharing some very special cards with you.  I just fell in love with the New Life Collection from Heartfelt Creations and was inspired to create this distressed card using the Wrought Iron Cross Precut Set.  The sentiment is from Decorative Vintage Cross Precut Set.  I was constantly reminded of the shabby-distressed metal work found on walls and in outdoor gardens so I wanted to create something similar.  The cross was created by distressing ink over the top of the white embossing powder then adding additional gold rub-n-buff. It turned this cross into something fabulous!!!  The cross also had another purpose to add a beautiful filagree border around the rich burgundy background. 

For my next card, I continued on working with the New Life Collection.  The Three Crosses is a true symbol of the ultimate sacrifice...so I used the set called Easter Lilies Precut Set.  I hope I did it justice. 

I first stamped the Vintage Life Background stamp then I used some silver holographic embossing powder to create a little hint of shimmer/sparkle on the crosses.  To add extra highlight, I applied bling to the centers of each cross.

New Life Collection Debut...

Hey stamping friends!  It's time for Heartfelt Creations' monthly release and OH My!! is it fabulous!  This month we're getting prepared for Easter!  Lily images, crosses, and BEARS  Oh my!  This collection is called "NEW LIFE" and it includes a "sister" die to the fabulously popular Decorative Window die.  Take a peek at the collection HERE. You just might say: "I WANNA HAVE IT ALL!"

Today I'm sharing the first card I made using this collection. As soon as it arrived, I pulled that die out because I KNEW I would be using that first!!!  Here's the project:  Not the typical WHITE lily flowers that represent Easter, but these are my FAVORITES...and remind me of my grandparents who hold a very special place in my heart.
