In Sympathy...

Hey stamping friends!

Today I'm showcasing some of the ever elusive individual stamps at Heartfelt Creations. THEY ARE AWESOME TOO!!!...Did you know that Heartfelt Creations has a MASSIVE collection of nicely priced individual stamps on wood, plain rubber, or with EZMount?  I really LOVE this option as they come in a wide variety of styles and can be used for many purposes.  

  

I created a sympathy card for my college roomie who lost her grandfather recently.  I know how hard it is to lose an amazing grandpa, so I needed something extra special to send.   I really love the Pear/Plum/Cream combination lately, so that's the color scheme I went with.   I used two individual stamps that I can't seem to locate on the Heartfelt Creations website.  Perhaps they are now discontinued (waahhhh!) or can be included in upcoming Precut Sets...(HINT HINT!):  Small Background Shades (7585ez) and  Small Fern (3940ez) .  I also used the sentiment from the HCPC 3377 Sympathy Sentiments and the Spellbinders Parisian Accents Dies.  Other items used were Cream cardstock from the Paper Company, My Minds Eye 6x6 pad A Beautiful Life, Memento Pear Tart, Sweet Plum and Desert Sand Dew Drops, Gold Liquid Pearls, Stardust Stickles, Pear Tart Fireworks! spritz to give the background some sparkle and of course, plum ribbon...mmmmmmmm...

In Honor of Lisa Lynne...

Hello stamping friends!

Today is a day some have set aside to honor a dear stamping sister.

I was shocked to learn a few days ago that one of my fellow Heartfelt Creations Design Team Alumni sisters passed away suddenly.  It was a total shock.  I remembered reading her blog and seeing her beautiful HC card posted the day before.  I spent time this week just trying to make sense of it all and trying hard to believe that it was actually for real.  As a fellow stamper, I'm sure you know the heartache when you learn of the loss of a fellow stamping friend.  It's quite difficult to share the significance of a loss of a friend you have never met in person.  The people in my "real world" often have no idea how people I've met online through a shared passion of stamping and praise have made an impression on me and have helped make me the person I am today.

I never had the opportunity to meet Lisa Lynne in person, but I was enamoured by her cheerful spirit and her smile when we shared comments and posts on Splitcoast.  Check out her gallery on Splitcoast here:  llwright.   After meeting her on Splitcoast, I discovered that I was so lucky to have been able to call her a DT sister on the Heartfelt Creations design team.  Lisa Lynne's style always envoked sunshine, happiness and...a ribbon of love to tie it all together, it seemed.  I felt a personal connection with her designs and they felt almost like I had been right there beside her creating and chatting...I sure wish I had the chance to get to meet her in person.

Here's a special card I created for Heartfelt Wednesday...pretty, sentimental and my favorite colors...

Directions:  Begin with Blue A2 Card Base.  Stamp Kraft cardstock with filagree image (Walnut Stain) and color leaves with E00 Copic marker.  Distress paper with tea stain and applicator sponge then curl edges with fingers.  Create front panel by layering patterned paper and stamped/distressed filagree paper.  Wrap this panel with lace.   Stamp sentiment onto cream cardstock with Walnut Stain ink and cut/emboss using Spellbinders die.  Distress with Tea Stain.  Apply sentiment to cardfront using dimensional glue dots.  Apply button and cut three viney leaves from HC diecut then layer under button.

Heartfelt Wednesdays...

Today I'm sharing a card that was totally inspired by the Going Home Celebration aired this past Saturday for Whitney Houston.  I was inspired by the love that was showered upon her beautiful spirit during the ceremony. I know God's plan was to take her home that day and I pray her family finds comfort in knowing the gifts she leaves behind far outnumber the challenges she faced throughout her short life on earth.  God rest her soul...

One of the most powerful moments for me was hearing Donnie McClurkin sing...STAND...Beautiful, Touching and Inspiring...Please take a listen...

Directions for my Tribute Card:

HCPC 3447 Window Accents Precut Set
HCPC 3455 Butterfly and Lilies Precut Set
HCPC 3450 Cross and Lilies Precut Set
Zip Dry Glue

Copic Xpress It Card
Memento Tuxedo Black
VersaMagic Wheat
Copic Markers:  V000, 04, 91and BV02
Teal Ribbon
Black Micron Pen
Flat Back Pearl
Teal/Silver Microfine Glitter
Glue Dots

Directions:  Begin with A2 card base (top fold).  Corner punch bottom left corner of card.  Create a circular mask with scrap paper.  Stamp woodgrain image within the circular mask from right edge of card using VersaMagic Wheat ink.  Apply Circular bling sticker then apply teal/silver microfine glitter over sticky adhesive along bling.  Stamp butterfly onto white cardstock with Memento ink and color with copic markers.  Cut out and set aside.  Stamp sentiment onto white cardstock then cut out and create a ribbon cut along outside edge. Curl sentiment "flag" with a stylus or other round tool.  Distress card base edges and sentiment edges with wheat ink.  Attach sentiment with glue dot.  Apply ribbon decoration, bling and colored butterfly.  Finish the card off by drawing the antenna and the stitches around the bling.
