Hop, Hop, Hop...

I LOVE blog hops and can't seem to pass up a good hop when it comes to working with some fabulous products!  This hop is ALL about COORDINATION!  Yep, Coordinating and combining stamp sets from multiple sources!  Yeah, it's not often that I get to have the opportunity to use products by more than one company but today...It's a TREAT!  If you've arrived here from Dawn's Blog, then you're on the right track! If not, you might want to head back to the beginning and start fresh HERE.

Woodware USA and Stamping Scrapping designers are working together today to demonstrate how you can use both companie's products on one piece of work.  What a treat!  Have you purchased anything from Stamping Scrapping lately?  Their prices are really ON THE SPOT!    They have TONS of good stamping supplies (including COPICS) and papers and stamps.  Their own line of Photopolymer stamps coordinate with Spellbinders dies too!

Today I'm sharing something I hope you'll enjoy.

This card was created using two stamp sets;  Heart Elements from StampingScrapping and Deuce Roosters by Jennifer Garant for WoodwareUSA. The sentiment is from the Woodware USA set Sympathy Poppy by WoodwareUSA.  I just LOVE the circle element from the StampingScrapping set and it's so versatile for backgrounds and borders and everything in between.  I think it would work wonderfully with an Asian theme so watch future posts for some projects with that focus!!!  The FUNKY rooster in Deuce Roosters worked PERFECTLY with this card.

Products used:
Deuce Roosters ($11.99 at Stamping Scrapping!)
Memento Tuxedo Black ($4.29 at Stamping Scrapping!)
Ranger Distress Ink Fired Brick ($4.29 at Stamping Scrapping!)
Copic Ciao Markers ($3.49 at Stamping Scrapping!):  E08, 31, 35; YR31, 23; Y17; B93

Now it's time to head over to Janine's blog.  I'm sure she has something cookin' over there that you've just GOT to see!  You'll have a chance to win ONE of TWO prizes IF and ONLY if you comment on each blog post in the hop.

CAS Challenged...

Stamp Set Used:  Jennifer Garant Invitation Elements

Oh yes, I'm CAS Challenged for sure! I just can't find it in me to restrain myself.  So before adding MORE (ribbon, stickles, buttons, bling, etc) to this card, I thought I'd hurry and take a picture of it. This is the only time it'll be CAS (CLEAN AND SIMPLE).

Don't get me wrong, I love seeing CAS cards and admire those who have the ability to restrain themselves, but for me...my cards are like my life, my house, my family, everything LIKE ME...BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!! So, if you lack CAS restraint like me, I recommend taking a photo BEFORE you're done...and call it CAS!

I hope you can find some time in your busy week this week to participate in Woodware USA's 20th Challenge...Keep it CLEAN and SIMPLE!   It's the last week of the month too so make sure to have at least ONE entry in this month's drawing for a fabulous PRIZE!!!

Have a FUN week.

Shapes, Shapes, Shapes...

This week at the WoodwareUSA blog, the challenge is FUN, FUN, FUN!  It's all about SHAPED Cards...Not your standard A2 or square cards...We're talking SHAPES!!!  So I went to town hand making this wine bottle shaped card to highlight an awesome Jennifer Garant set called Lunch in Paris...This set reminds me of Chrysalis Vineyard and Winery and whenever I go pick up my monthly wine order, I'm in awe at all their award winning wine bottles along the walls...So, I decided to create one of my own!  Of course, I had to add the RED, WHITE and BLUE ribbon...Yes, it says USA, not FRANCE, so just imagine sitting back on a beautiful day in the Virginia Piedmont sipping a fresh glass of Norton...The REAL American Grape!  YUMMO!

I'd like to invite you to join us this week and EVERY week as we introduce fun challenges to pep your stamping mojo...Have fun and DON'T forget to upload your card to our challenge post!

I used several Woodware USA stamp sets in this design.  The primary set was "Lunch in Paris" by Jennifer Garant.  Other supporting sets were Mixed Greetings and Easy Stitching

Down the hatch!

So on with the show...
If you arrived here from Harriet's blog, you're on the right track!

Hey!  It's the day after the Super Bowl and like many others, I'm pooped!  How did you like the game?  Was YOUR team victorious?

I'm sharing this card with you to celebrate the big day...SUPER BOWL Sunday, football Sunday and TAILGATING!  Yeppers, I love me a good Tailgate Party and there's nothing better than.....

MARTINIS and WEENIES!!!  YEAH!

This is one of the newest stamp sets from WoodwareUSA and Jennifer Garant called, you guessed it...Martini's and Weenies!  I LOVE it!!!  I decided to go a little artsy since this is such a whimsical image and I pulled out my masking medium.  If you look closely, you can see I was a little too hasty on applying the masking medium because I missed a few brush strokes and my distress ink ran through.  Oh well, I think it's not that bad for a little bit of work and a whole lotta fun!

Have you tried masking medium?  It's fun!  Stinks a bit (ammonia and rubber) but oh so fun!  Let me know what you think, then head over to Nancy's blog to see what she's got tied up in a pretty little ribbon and bow!

You had me at Merlot...

Or in my case, Norton or Shiraz...YUMMO!

Today I'm sharing something that's not EXACTLY what you're used to seeing on my blog.  There's a new stamp artist at Woodware USA and I was lucky enough to play with her brand new images.  If you haven't heard of Jennifer Garant, obviously you're not that hip in the Kitchen gadgetry world.  Head over to Bed Bath and Beyond and many other kitchen stores out there and you're sure to see some of her art gracing the shelves!  It kinda reminds me of the artwork that my sister and her husband had in their store a few years ago...big bulky French chefs, humorous and playful scenes and beautifully rich colors...

So here's a little taste of Jennifer Garant...I made a card using one of her sets (Check them ALL out at WoodwareUSA today).  This set is called Lunch in Paris.  This set has some wonderful images-perfect for cards, scrapbook layouts, ATC's and all kinds of other fun projects.

To make this card,  I repeatedly stamped the fleur de lis image on a piece of kraft cardstock with Versafine Onyx Ink then embossed with white embossing powder.  Afterwards, I crumpled up the cardstock.  When I did this, some of the embossing ink broke off and created a worn effect so I went with that and decided to distress the page up a bit with a variety of distress inks...

Stamping everything with Versafine ink allowed me to emboss and color with my Copics.  Pretty simple to assemble the card after that.  Added my favorite Paper Loft patterned paper, some Making Memories brads and it all came together!

Deelish Norton Wine in the background from a company in Virginia called Chrysalis Vineyards.  I'm a monthly member and get some yummy wine every month!

Here's a little shot of the scribble around the border and the cracking that was created after crumpling the paper up.  I loved this effect.

I'm off to make a few more cards with this set and just a little hint...I'm using some rubber mask medium and PAINT!!!
