September Challenge...Joy Clair

Hello Joy Clair Friends!  Joy Clair is thrilled to announce the new September Cardmaking/Project challenge!  Several design team members are joining the fun this month to inspire and encourage YOU to join us in creating some beautiful projects!  The feature photo above from designseeds.com is our inspiration and we encourage you to create a card or project using the colors, theme or layout of this photo.  Single layers?  YES!  Check out my creation!
I took inspiration from the colors and the feather pattern in the photo and started out by grabbing some coordinating inks.  I love my Memento ink spots and they work perfectly for this project!  I selected the colors Ladybug, Potter's Clay, London Fog and Bahama Blue.
To create my background, I inked the "holly leaf" from the new Christmas Coffee set and stamped an overlapping pattern using this four different colors.  I tried to follow the color pattern in the photo. After that, I used a paper towel to distress the edges.  Finally, I took the edges of the ink pads and swiped them across the paper to create the feathery swoops in the photo.
Since I wanted to focus totally on this background and not add additional images, this will be a fun note card to send someone.  It's simple and colorful and can be used for a variety of reasons.  To finish off the card, I did add some embellishments to make it a bit more special:  Rinea Foil slivers, golden pearls, red satin ribbon and some sparkly sequin ribbon.  FUN!
Fun right?  OK...Now it's YOUR turn.  Give it a try!  I can't wait to see what YOU create!  Remember to post your project on Joy Clair Blog Challenge page (add your link to our Inlinkz).  You might be the lucky winner of this month's challenge.  There are TONS of stamp sets for you to choose from if you win the $25 gift card!
