Joy Clair...Birthday Bash!

Hey there stamping friend!  I'm here for just a little fun and getting a little excited!  Did you know that Joy Clair turns FOUR YEARS OLD this month?  Yes!  It's exciting and I'm excited to share in the celebration!  All this month I'll be sharing some fun projects I have created especially to celebrate this awesome milestone!  I hope you can stop by every now and then to take a peek as I prep and get ready for the celebrations...and to help toss confetti, shake some rattles and blow some horns!  Towards the end of the month, you'll want to check out a fun event that Joy Clair is holding to celebrate too so make sure you're following the Joy Clair Blog!

I created this first card as a "Preppin' for the Party" theme!  I call this the REFRESHMENTS!  Haha.
I love the new "LIFE IS SWEET" set, especially the lemons.  Gotta love lemons!   I paired them up with a little sparkle, some gloss and shine and a sweet sentiment on the inside.
I created the background using my Gelli Plate and some yellow/light blue and lime green inks.  I added a few stamped images on the plate (from the ever-so-popular Doodle Flowers set) and lifted the yummy color onto a piece of white cardstock.  I mounted this panel on some light yellow and lime green cardstock.

After making the background, I stamped the lemons with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with Copic markers.  I then added some gloss and some sparkle dust and let them dry for a while. After they were completely dry, I assembled them onto my card panel and added a strip of metallic gold cardstock and a little jute too.

I included the sentiment from the new Sprinkled With Love set.  I love the larger sentiments in this set!  They work perfectly on the inside!  I stamped another lemon slice, colored with Copics and added some gloss- also added a few treats on the inside because, well...it's just as sweet on the inside!

Pop back over again soon as I'll have something that goes perfectly with my Lemonade....

Happy Mother's Day!

I want to wish all the Mommas out there a happy Mother's Day today!  I'm sad that I can't be with my mom on this Mother's Day but I hope she'll enjoy her special flower gift.  I picked 'em just for her.  I also made this cute little card to continue the love greetings in her mailbox.

I used the cute little cuddle bear from the new Joy Clair set called Mother's Day Love because my nickname is Kerbear.  I also collect teddy bears.  This image just tugged at my heart and made me want to give my mom a big hug.

To create my card, I started out by stamping the flower image (from the set Doodle Flowers) using my Versafine Clair Charming Pink and Memento Angel Pink.  After that, I used my Misti to stamp the bears with Memento Tuxedo Black onto white cardstock.  I colored the bears with my Copic Markers.

I cut a little strip of Lawn Fawn Plaid paper into some grassy shape and distressed it with Memento ink then attached it to my paper (also distressed the bottom with Memento ink).  I fussy cut the bears and popped them up on the page with my foam squares.
This set has a great collection of mix-and-match sentiments so I picked the words I most use when I'm chatting with Mom.

Thanks for stopping by!  Again, I wish you Mommas...Especially mine a very happy Mother's Day!

It's Christmas in July at Joy Clair!

WOO HOO!  It's Christmas in July!  It's an entire week of projects and discounts!  You've got that right, discounts!  Join us this week as we celebrate Christmas in July...With Joy Clair Style!
Hey there inky friends!  This week I'm celebrating Christmas In July at Joy Clair.  All week long the designers at Joy Clair have been sharing some gorgeous Holiday creations and today Steph Ackerman and I are sharing our holiday projects with you!  I'm sharing this fun and festive card using a few NON HOLIDAY stamp sets from the Joy Clair collection.

Yes, thinking out-of-the-box was the requirement for me this time as I do not have any traditionally Christmas sets from Joy Clair (yet).  SOOO...what was I to do?  Well, I dug through my collection of amazing stamp sets and pulled a few that inspired me to create something Holiday-ish!  Hope you enjoy!

I selected Doodle Flowers and Hello Sentiments to create this jar of joy card.  I used my colored pencils and watercolors to color the jar and hand write the Joy sentiment.  I also doodled the background frame using a micron pen.  I think it helps contain the jar and helps pop this panel off the page.
I added a few sprigs from the stamp set, doodled a few red berries and applied some micro glitter to one edge of the jar.  I also wrapped a bit of twine around the neck of the jar to incorporate the ribbon/fiber elements that are consistent in my designs.
Just adding a bit of colored pencil coloring within the doodled lines helped continue the color-theme and connect the border to the jar image.

So...The next time you're thinking of making a holiday card, think OUTSIDE of the box.  Change it up a bit because you don't have to stick to traditional holiday images when making handmade cards!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of Christmas in July!

A Sweet Hello...

Well, hello there Joy Clair friends!  It's Kerry here and I'm sharing my most recent card created using the fun and whimsical flower swirl in the new Doodle Flowers set. It pairs well with the new Hello Sentiments set that is absolutely a new staple sentiment set in my collection. I just LOVE them both!
My Mini Misti comes in handy for creating this quick and easy wreath!  It also helps to add that perfectly inked scripty sentiment!
The first steps in creating this fun card were to stamp the wreath onto white cardstock and then create the background that would help color the swirly flowers. To create the wreath design, I selected the frond stamp that leans to the left (there is a reverse image that leans to the right also).  I stamped it repeatedly in a circular layout with three different green colored Memento inks. It was important to create some dimension and depth with my little wreath and I could do that by layering the leafy fronds in three different colors.
I went to town stamping the swirly flower onto the background paper.  I just love this little stamp! After stamping 900,000 flowers (hee hee), I started the process of cutting them out. Each and Every one...without a clue in the world what I'd make with them!
After the 900,000 flowers were cut, I set them aside and grabbed my Misti again. I used it to stamp the "hello" sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Up next was to arrange the flowers on the wreath (I used some foam squares to add dimension) and create the leaves.  I colored some white cardstock using Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Reinker by adding a few drops of ink to the acetate sheet our stamps come sandwiched between then spritzing with water.
Two little drops of this yummy reinker can produce an amazing background!
Isn't it yummy?!  When this ink is applied to paper with water, several different colors appear on your paper.  So amazing, really.
After cutting out the leaves I assembled them into a pleasing layout design. To finish the card off, I doodled a few dotty elements then mounted this panel onto a light blue backing and mounted it onto an A2 card base. Of course, almost all of my creations have some form of ribbon or fiber, I opted for a light and natural colored thread tied into a double bow. YUM!
I so enjoyed making this card.  It's quite simple and you can whip out quite a few in no time! Thanks so much for popping by to see how I created it!
So long for now!  :)  Happy crafting!

A Mother's Love...

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers out there!  I have to say, my Momma is AMAZING and I want to wish her the most fabulous day ever.  I hope she is having fun spending time with my dad in Europe and I am looking forward to when I can pick them up at the airport.

In reflecting on all my Mom's fabulous character traits, my heart was drawn to the bible verse in Proverbs.  I was particularly embraced by Proverbs 31: 25-31.  Take a glance...This is SO my mother!
I knew I had to journal this page and include some amazing and loving colors.  They remind me of her warmth, her loving spirit, her faith, her patience and her kindness...She is the She in She...and so much more.
I chose to decorate this page using Ranger Distress Oxide inks (and water) by Ranger.  I stamped the flowers from the Doodle Flowers set from Joy Clair and applied them in a cascading array across my penciled journaling.  The leaves were stamped using Memento Pear Tart ink.
This Bible passage just spoke to me and of my mom.  Every. Single. Word that was highlighted gave me a visual of my mom.  I'm so blessed to have been chosen to be her daughter.
Thank you for stopping by.  I encourage you to find your Mom in His word...Read it.  Study it. Visualize these words...You will find her.  <3 p="">
