Drink Up! It's National Iced Tea Day today!!!

Hey there coffee/tea loving crafty peeps!  It's National Iced Tea Day today and I thought it would be fun to join my fellow Coffee Loving Papercrafty peeps in the fun with a Hop, hop, hop!  If you've come here from Robyn's blog, you're on the right track!  You might be thinkin' Hey there Kerbear, that doesn't look like any ICED TEA I've had before...WELL...Nope, It's a bit more Fancy...Yeah, I just had to get my pretty on and make a glass of Sun brewed Hibiscus Tea!  YEPPERS...I filled a jar full of water, added three dried hibiscus flowers and set it outside in the sun for about two hours.  I peeked out there a few times to check on it's done-ness...Yeah, if it's RED it's DONE!  I brought it inside and placed it in the fridge to cool up a bit and then a little while later, added some ice and a sweet paper straw and I was in business!

Have you ever tried Hibiscus tea?  If you haven't, I'll just enable you right HERE with the yummy dried flowers that will change your life.  Don't worry about any sweeteners (but on occasion I will use Talenti Caramel syrup) because not only is this nectar of the gods beautiful, it packs it's own sweetness!
After making my card (of course, it was inspired by my little lady tea.), I had to let this beauty join the photo shoot before she got guzzled down!

To create my card, I pulled some pretty reds and pinks from my cardstock stash, pulled some of my favorite goodies from SugarPea Designs:  Stitched Rectangles Dies, Iced Coffee Die (retired) and then chose a fun sentiment from the Silhouette Design Studio to cut and apply to my design.  I colored the cup with various pinks and reds (Copics) and then overlaid a piece of vellum over it.  I also used some gloss to make the vellum and the straw shine.

I also grabbed a few silver glitter photo corners from Thermoweb and colored them with the red marker before attaching them to the panel.

Thanks for hopping along and checking out my project!  I hope it inspires you to make some iced tea today!  Hop on over to the CLC Blog for all the inspirational teamie links!  Or...Just hop right over to Amanda's blog by clicking on her image in the inlinkz below.
