TCP Sneaky Peeks Day 2: For Fox Sake and Spring Tree

Hey there inky friends!  I'm joining some of my fellow Cat Packers as we share some sneaky peeks today!  Pretty soon, you can get your hands on the "FOR FOX SAKE" stamp set and the "SPRING TREE" cuttable.  Aren't these little fox just the cutest in all the land?  I just love the sketchy nature of each image and love the playful antics of these adorable creatures!  I know you will too.  I'm also sneaking a peek of a new sequin pack "Spring Mix Confetti" AND this most fabulous sequin grabber called the Gem Wand!  You MUST have one in your crafty arsenal!
For Fox Sake

Spring Tree Duo
So to create my card, I offset the Spring Tree Duo cutout on a white cardstock panel.  After diecutting, I took another piece of white cardstock and colored it with Neocolor I wax pastels (I used the light blues and a yellow) to create a nice little spring sky background.  I heated this coloring with my heat gun so that I could soften some of the wax and then I rubbed it a bit with a cloth.  This gave me a more blended colorway and removed some of the harsh lines in my coloring.  I then glued the tree diecut over that and inset it into the circle.  I also mounted it onto a creamy yellow cardstock panel to make it a bit more sturdy.
After that, I machine stitched the borders (just the three sides) and then stamped and started coloring the little fox.  I wanted him to have "sketchy coloring" to help align with the sketchy nature of the image so I just roughly colored with several oranges and a light yellow.  Next

I mean really...Aren't these the most adorable little fox you have ever seen???  I just can't get enough!!!  I zoomed in a bit so you could see the embellies I added to my card...Yep...That's a little sneaky peek too...I just folded those baby butterflies so that they would have a bit more dimension, you know.  I'm all about the dimension.  HA HA
Another peek at the background AND those embellies...You will love them!
Thanks so much for hopping over today.  I hope you were inspired by my creation.  Please hop on over to my fellow Sneaky Peek TCP Cat's pages and take a peek at their creations!  I know they will make you go Awwwwww....!

    1. Thanks so much. I wasn't quite sure where I could put it on the card without it being distracting so I tucked it under the ribbon to lighten it up. hee hee

  3. Kerry, I love your coloring on this card. Wax pencils? The list for the blog hop doesn’t have links to jump to their pages. When and where do I buy that die cut?

    1. Thanks so much Betty. These are artist grade wax pastels. They are very hard wax crayon-type instruments. They are so fun to work with. I also love the watercolor versions (Neocolor II). Technically, this is not a blog hop but if you look at my sidebar, you'll be able to see links to all of my team's blogs. The ones listed are contributing to this sneak peek day. You will be able to purchase this die TODAY if you REALLY want it! It is officially released next week! WOOP! We will have a blog hop on March 26 (the official release day). You can purchase it on the TCP website here: https://thecatspajamasrs.com/TCP/product/spring-tree-duo. Hope this helps!
