Joy Clair New Release: Thankful and Blessed and Falling Leaves Background

Hello there Joy Clair Friends!  It's Kerry here and I'm back to share a few cards I created using the gorgeous new Thankful and Blessed set.  This set just makes me smile.  The sentiments are perfect and the beautiful fall images are so fun to color!

To celebrate the new release, Joy Clair is giving away a $25 gift card to one lucky winner!  Please leave a comment on the Joy Clair blog and ALL designer blogs by Sunday, Oct. 7 for a chance to win!  The winner will be announced on the Joy Clair blog on October 31.

Our new collection of stamps are now available in the Joy Clair Store so we hope you find something you like!

If you arrived here from Helen's blog, you are hopping along nicely!  If not, you can circle back with no problem- just check out the blogroll at the bottom of my post!

Now, on to my cards!

To create my card, I stamped the sunflower image onto some white cardstock (using my Misti).  After stamping, I colored with Copic markers.  I used a variety of yellows, browns, greens and tans to achieve my final colored piece.  I fussy cut the image and then decided to create a fun fall background piece using the new Falling Leaves background stamp.  I wanted to create a really light background so I stamped it with a light yellow ink.
After stamping the background, I diecut an oval and stamped the sentiment, I rubbed a bit of the yellow ink onto the diecut so that it would stand out on the paper.  I then mounted it onto the leaves panel.
To finish the card off, I mounted the stamped panel onto yellow cardstock and then tied some dark brown ribbon on with a bow.  Mounting the flower with a few foam squares and applying some Nuvo Drops for embellishing was the last step.

I decided to use the scrap panel from the oval diecut for a second card.  I stamped the sunflower/pumpkin image and colored it with the same Copic markers.  I fussy cut it and then applied it with some foam squares to the oval diecut panel.  I stamped another piece of white cardstock with the sentiment and placed this panel over the top.
I added some gloss to the center of each flower, the sentiment and the leaves.  I added a tiny bit of microfine clear glitter to make it sparkle .  I tied a bit of brown Hemptique twine onto the card because...well, almost every card I make has some fiber/ribbon/twine.  It's just something I love!
The image is just too fun and I love how it POPS on white cardstock.  I look forward to using this set over and over this fall season!
Thanks so much for hopping over today!  I hope you enjoyed these creations and are inspired to create something too!  :)
