Challenge 2015...

Hello stamping friends.  I'm keeping up with my personal challenge this year to make more crafty projects and posts on my blog...I'm starting today with a sketch challenge from My Favorite Things.  I'm sure EVERYONE in this stampy world knows that Susan Opel just took the reins as the Creative Ambassador at MFT, and she's already started posting some FUNTABULOUS challenges...I'm so excited to participate as I have been off the challenge wheel for quite some time.  It's time to get back on!

SOOOO...Here's the sketch (click to link to their challenge post):
I also set a goal to use up most of my paper and embellishment stash this year.  Like many other stampers out there, I HAVE TONS OF PAPER and I can't seem to purge it so I really need to use it up!   This "patterned paper" is actually from a Studio G card set that I purchased at Michael's many, many moons ago.  I love the color scheme and decided to match the coloring of my MFT image to this paper.
To match the design on the sketch, I sewed some velvet scalloped ribbon onto a piece of embossed vellum.  The sentiment was stamped repeatedly onto the vellum, then heat embossed with Versamark and clear embossing powder.
This little sweetie is so adorable.  I had to give her some rosy cheeks as she's been working on that lollypop for hours!
A little close-up view of the embossed vellum and deelish stitching...I love sewn on ribbon!
And this time, I didn't forget to give some love to the inside of the card!  Since I cut the original card to create the sketch layout on the front panel, I had some extra paper to add on the inside AND on the envelope flap...Perfectly coordinating!

Supplies used:
Studio G card set
Pure Innocence Lollypop-Retired MFT Set.
Glossy Accents
Stardust Stickles
Pop Dots

Copic colors used:
Ink:
Versafine Onyx

Now I'm off to do some color matching so I can participate in the MFT color challenge this week. I've already got some ideas swirling around in my head and it involves my Gelli plate, acrylic paint and some fabric... WOO HOOO!

  5. She is adorable, Kerry, and I love how you used your pp for the sketch! I, too, have enough to open a store! Good luck with using your stash this year and if you run across something new that you've forgotten about, add it to a card and bring it over to my place to link up with my NBUS (never-before-used schtuff) Challenge! There still a little over a week to go! Hugs, Darnell
