New Year, New goodies!

If you checked in with me on January 1, 2011, you definitely saw this card and may be back to find out more about it! 

This week WoodwareUSA is hosting a "Use Something NEW" challenge.  If you haven't already used some new stuff you've purchased or received as a gift over the recent holiday season, now's your chance to share the goods! 

Other than the NEW YEAR, there are more things that are NEW to me.  Today I'm sharing one NEW item from my craft room.  This FUN black BLING!  I don't usually purchase the swirly bling you find so commonly used on cards and scrapbook pages but I just had to pick up some of the black bling I found in the dollar section at Michael's.  This package of black bling has already been used on two cards!  It came in a package of some swirls and some shapes like hearts and that butterfly (I think that's what it is.) you see in my card.  I put the bling on some white cardstock, cut it out and added some black cardstock behind it so it would stand out more on the card.  Adding some silver Stickles and some little eyelash yarn really jazzed it up and made it look like a party mask so I added a stick and voila! 

I used two stamp sets to make this card.  Easy Stitching and Mixed Greetings.   Stitching stamps have gone by the wayside, but I think this Woodware Set is here to stay!  It's so fun to add color to some of the stitching patterns and it works perfectly in this festive card.  I had to hunt through my WoodwareUSA stamp stash to find the perfect sentiment...Party on! is so PERFECT!
