Hello there!
Many of you already know that my final term as a Design Team Member for Odd Bird Planet came to an end over two months ago and I've really been lost without that creative outlet. Being on a design team really stretched my creativity and allowed me opportunities to work with a fabulous group of stampers. I enjoyed participating in online challenges and blog hops, organizing and promoting new release parties at my local stamping store, teaching classes using OBP stamps, and sharing my love of card making with others. I've been hoping for just the right Design Team Call to come around and today, I finally found it!
Your Next Stamp is a brand new stamp company holding its first Design Team Call. All my stamping friends know I LOVE MY COPICS and ribbon and patterned paper and love cute, colorable images....So you must know THIS company is right up my alley, right? Check out these cute Fhiona stamps. Aren't they cute? They remind me of the the Japanese characters I loved as a child (Kerropi and Hello Kitty). Another favorite has to be WILD ABOUT YOU! If you only knew how hard I searched for just the perfect giraffe stamp for a set of first birthday cards I've been commissioned to make. OH Man! I had all my stamping friends searching EVERYWHERE for a cute, colorable giraffe that didn't look like a dinosaur or a spindly little creature...If only I could have found this set last week!!!
Anyway, less rambling and on with the call...
Your Next Stamp has requested that DT hopefuls post an entry on their blog displaying two of their most favorite creations. That's a hard decision to make for me but decided to select two pieces that really represent who I am as a stamper and a designer. I love making sketches, doing tutorials/teaching classes and love to color so here are two cards that encompass these things:
The first card represents my love for Copic Markers and teaching. I made this card on the same day I did my first video tutorial. After doing that tutorial, I made this card using some of the same hair colors I used in that tutorial. I had just purchased a bunch of CC Designs stamps and was excited to use them (I think they look similar to some of the stamps by YOUR NEXT STAMP.)
My next selection is this card below. I love to design sketches and share them with my stamping friends. I also Love, Love, Love Magnolias! Sometimes I do challenges with them and sometimes I just use them to create cards. This card was made from one of my sketches. I love how it turned out. I especially loved that this was my first successful attempt at coloring darker skin tones.
I'd love to have the opportunity to design for Your Next Stamp. For now, I'll wait patiently and continue working on more cards and stamped creations. Watch for more videos too! Heck, maybe YOUR NEXT STAMP will become a part of Ready, Set, Sketch!

Your coloring is AMAZING!! I love CC Design stamps too:)
ReplyDeleteSorry to comment again, but your tutorials ROCK! I like how you color in little strokes. I keep going around in circles and it ends up getting the paper too saturated:/ I haven't seen anyone do it that way and I LOVED the feathering technique. If you don't make the DT I'll blow milk out my nose! I hope you post more tutorials in the future-I have subscribed:)
