Hey stamping friends,

I have a few NEW projects that I worked on for Heartfelt Creations this weekend and I wanted to share them today. Here's my first card for the week. I think it has to be one of my most favorite cards in a long time. I love the "artsy" look and the spritzing, for sure. I'm kinda on a Kraft kick lately...Not much patterned paper...Yes, I have TONS and I guess I'm hoarding that too, but I like my plain cardstock that I can stamp all over! LOL...

Isn't it pretty? I love how it just all came together. I'm glad I still have that heart Cuttlebug folder...It works perfectly with this design.

I think the little black tag looks kinda like a tag on some clothes, what do you think???

Now for my second card:

I love it when I have dreams about certain projects and this is one of the projects I dreamed of making the other day! I stamped the carnations onto kraft cardstock then colored with watercolor pencils, then after that, I used some Heartfelt Creations sticky tape and added microfine glitter all over the image. It's a pretty simple card, and before it was glitzed up, it was quite bold with the coloring...I love how the glitter tones down the colors and just makes them peek through.

I've been saving those little metal flower brads FOREVER. I don't know why I buy stuff and let it just sit forever without using it...I guess, I just LOVE the stuff TOO much and can't let go of it. This time, I tried using the brads and the flowers broke off two of them before I got one brad to work. I guess the soldiering isn't the greatest, and they just pop off! Ugghhh...

Here's a closer peek at the coloring. I used yellows, pinks, and oranges on some of the carnations and greens and blues on others. I also tied some new pink/white twine I got from the Twinery! Nope, that was a new purchase, and WAS Used right away...so proud of myself!

Unity Stamp of the week "Happy Couple"...

Hey stamping friends,

I'm here today to share a little card I made this weekend with my new UNITY Stamp of the Week set that came in the mail on Friday. I know there will be LOTS more posted in the future with this fabulous "Happy Couple" Set (set #2 in the Stamp of the Week collection).

When the announcement for the special UNITY Stamp of the Week promotion began, I jumped at the opportunity to get such an inexpensive treat in my mailbox each week. A few weeks ago, my first installment arrived (FIRST EVER UNITY PURCHASE/STAMPS) and I was WOWED by the quality...and the PERKS!

SO today, I hope you enjoy this little treat I created. Stop by in a few days for more of my UNITY creations.

This card was created with my BASICS. Yep, black and kraft cardstock, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain ink, cranberry cardstock, yummy ribbon and some "Lovey Dovey" embellishments...

Heartfelt Wednesdays...

Hey Stamping friends! I'm back again to share another project created with the newest Heartfelt Creations Collection: Chateau Gate! I really LOVE the collection. This card was really difficult to photograph well standing up because the front was cut out which made every photo angled...URGHHH...Anyway, I did the best I could to capture this card.

Love using stamps to create my paper patterns so you can see that I used part of the trees here...Creates a little more texture and depth, I think.

The die was new and when I have new dies, the first cut is the most tricky to remove...I did have to trim a few curlycues because of tears...Can you spy where they were cut??? Not bad eh?

I love the heart shape on the filagree so I decided to pull in a bit of mauve and burgundy. Drawing you into the window is that bold beachy color that contrasts the muted mauve and darker burgundy. ")

Perfect Congratulations card for someone who may have had a beach wedding or just returned from a sunny vacation...

Chateau Gate Collection...Part 3

I'm back today to share a fun little card I dreamed up when I received this cityscape from Heartfelt Creations Scenic Vista Precut Set. I thought it would be FABULOUS in black and white graphic print with a little whimsy added to the mix. I had the PERFECT little truck (Odd Bird Planet-no longer in business). Isn't it a perfect card for Valentine's day??? I'm planning on making a few of these. They are simple and FUN!

Someday, when the economy is better, I hope to see Odd Bird Planet back in business as I love the humor and whimsy of the stamps -and sentiments-.

Directions:

Stamp woodgrain onto kraft cardstock. Distress using Ranger ink and sponge. Glue to denim fabric and sew together. fray fabric by rubbing with fingernail. Create strap to attach to brass finding with additional jean fabric and thread. Attach to strap and adhere to stamped panel using Zip-Dry gule. Stamp sentiment onto cardstock and set aside. Handcut primitive heartshape from red cardstock. Stamp cityscape using Ranger Fired Brick onto heart. Distress with both distress inks. Use Paper blossom tool to round edges of heart. Attach red floss and button, then attach ribbon using glue. Adhere this panel to white card base of equal size.

Handcut primitive heart. Stamp Cityscape image using Fired Brick ink and black ink for sentiment. Attach floss and button and attach to ribbon using Zip Dry Glue. (Ribbon is removable to allow you to insert/remove contents into/from bag.

It's the first Wednesday of 2012 WAHOO! Hope you're having a great week! I'm back to school again and now the countdown to Summer Vacation has begun. I haven't quite made up my mind about when or WHERE to go...but there are several ideas swimming around in my head...I know for sure It'll be a summer of TRAVEL!

So let's speed up the year a bit... I'm getting into the February mood....You know, that lovey-dovey month? Not really my favorite month, but I do LOVE to make cards, so I make LOVEY-DOVEY ones for February anyway.

Directions
Stamp Love sentiment onto white cardstock. Heat emboss with clear ep then color heart with Copic marker. Stamp assorted flourishes around the border of the paper with Ranger distress inks. Crumple/uncrumple paper and distress with distress ink. Attach a strip of pleated/crumpled crepe paper to upper edge of design. Attach to black card base (slightly smaller than standard A2). Apply Glossy Accents to colored heart then attach the dove embellishment onto the bow.

So yeah, I've been hoarding these adorable Valentine embellishments for about a year now. I found them about Christmastime last year and haven't found the perfect opportunity to use them until THIS CARD! The little love dove works perfectly, don't you think???

One Last 2011 Post...

I spent a lot of time away from the stamp room during this Christmas vacation this year and also spent most of my time away from home. It was a refreshing change of pace, and a much needed rest. Anyway, I'm back to normal now and ready to begin 2012 with a new eye, new goals and dreams...SO to say farewell to 2011, I'm sharing one last post...

I created these two projects tonight-among other things to be shared in the future...These two projects use the Limited Edition stamps from Heartfelt Creations (which will soon be GONE FOR GOOD)...Hopefully they'll extend the deadline to order...

Directions: Stamp Flowers onto white cardstock using red ink. Cut out flowers (cutting off smaller "under" petals to use as embellishments later). Distress flower petals with pink ink. Use embossing stylus to form petals and layer to assemble. Attach felt heart and silver bling. Stamp white base using blue ink then distress edges. Attach red ribbon then adhere to patterned paper cut to fit inside shadowbox. Paint shadowbox and apply Stickles to front edge of frame. Insert decorative stamped panel then adhere flower to ribbon/panel.

Now, my second project is actually a HYBRID...Yep, that's right...I created something with ink, paper AND my computer...Wanna See??? Well, there is a really good reason for my madness today...I wanted to create a scrapbook page but didn't have any pictures. REALLY? Yep, I never have any pictures anymore...other than those on my digital camera and on my computer so I figured I'd try my hand at overlaying a photo onto a layout...SO HERE'S My FIRST HYBRID layout...

Directions: Stamp Variety of flowers onto 12x12 paper. Color a few flowers with Copics. Ruffle magazine print and apply some Amber Clay ink to distress a bit. Attach to patterned paper cut 8x8. Attach ribbon then attach additional reverse portion of the patterned paper. Stamp sentiment onto white cardstock and attach to yellow cardstock then to brown folded cardstock (interactive). Attach embellishments to bow. Add Diamond Glaze to smallest sunflower after coloring, cutting out and attaching to bow. Digitally added photo using paint.net (to resemble transparent overlay).

Now, I will be creating a transperancy to match the "Digital Version" because you know I JUST HAVE to have REAL touchy-feely stuff...not that old flat stuff!!!

Directions: Begin with A2 chocolate card base and one pink 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card front. Stamp pink cardstock with flower using Ranger Linen. Use die cutting machine to cut top layer off using decorative die. Apply decorative border to top edge. Apply crinkled magazine print (distressed with Copic Marker) to bottom edge. Stamp flourish on edges with Desert Sand ink. Apply Copic Dyed lace and stamp sentiment using Burnt Sienna ink.

To make flower, stamp the five vintage wildflowers using Burnt Sienna ink onto white cardstock. Distress with distressing tool and assorted available ink colors. Overstamp Hark the Herald Angels background stamp image onto flower. Cut out flowers and cut between petals with scissors. Layer flowers and crinkle edges. Attach button and ribbon with zip dry glue. Attach cardfront to brown card base and adhere flower to pink cardfront layer. Apply liquid pearls to finish the card off.

Begin with A2 kraft card base. Spritz front of card base using copper spritz. stamp larges vintage wildflower onto cardfront with memento ink. color using copic markers to give dimension and contrast. Apply bling with Glossy Accents. Cut slit along flower edge and card fold to insert ribbon. Stamp sentiment repeatedly onto card using generation stamping. Cut 1/2 inch off edge and apply crinkled newsprint/magazine. Attach pink layer to inside front and use corner rounder on bottom of card. Use fine tip marker to add faux stitching marks along border.

Directions:

Stamp image onto Copic Xpress It card. Color with Copic Markers. Cut out image with large Spellbinders circle die. With die attached, distress with Sea Breeze ink. Stamp snowflakes onto card base (4 3/4 x 5 1/2in ) with Ranger embossing ink. Emboss with white embossing powder. Cut a slit at the top of the card at the fold. Insert ribbon and tie around top layer like a present. Tie an additional green ribbon onto white ribbon. Stamp snowflake and emboss then cut out. Attach pearl pins and stamens to ribbon then glue snowflake onto that. Attach flat back pearl to snowflake. . Attach image to card with pop dots. Use corner rounder to cut the bottom corners of the card.

So lemme leave you with a little LUV too....Hope the snow starts to fall soon! Bye for now!

Brrr...It's getting cold but NO SNOW YET! I'm itchin' for some that's for sure! I love WINTER and this time of the season but I'm getting a bit nervous that mother nature will not provide me with enough of the WHITE STUFF! I hope and pray this will not be the case!

Today, I'm sharing a card created particularly for the Christmas season and for the collaboration hop with Scrap-Mart. If you haven't visited there, you'll want to. It's a great place to pick up scrapbooking and stamping supplies and it is one of my favorite embellishment spots to stop at while at scrapbooking expos. Today we're (Heartfelt Creations and Scrap-Mart) are having a combined Blog-Hop. FUN FUN FUN! Head over to their blog to learn more and join the fun.

I'm sharing an artsy technique I've played around with for YEARS since first learning to use it during my college days. I love using masking medium and find it so MAGICAL! If you're not familiar with it, it's liquid latex and can be brushed (or dotted with a toothpick) onto paper to mask something you do not want to be colored. It's great for watercolor painting AND for distress inks and glimmer sprays. Perfect for this time of year right?

OK. So for this card, I did some masking, then inked, then masked again, then masked again...Kinda got a latex high LOL... I shared the directions on the Heartfelt Creations Blog today, but I thought I'd post them here too for those who might want to try it.

Directions:
For background: Stamp poinsettia image repeatedly onto white cardstock. Paint Masking fluid over flowers and inner parts of greens. Apply Tea Dye ink (rub) with sponge over entire image. Rub the masking off the poinsettias and the other flowers. Reapply Masking over the centers of the poinsettias so it doesn't get inked. Rub Fired Brick ink over the poinsettias (and masking) from the inside outwards until color intensity and blending desired. Remove Masking from remaining part of poinsettias and other flowers and rub Worn Lipstick overr this until blending and intensity desired. Rub off masking from the greens and apply Gold Spika to these. Use Turquoise Spika to trace over veins on poinsettias and the Gold Stickles on the centers of the flowers. Cut this panel to size 5 x 3 3/4 inches and attach to brown bazzill. Attach yellow ribbon and Dew Drops with E6000 Glue. Touch-up any "missed inking" by inking a dull pencil tip then rub over this ink with the eraser tip.

Stamp sentiment onto Copic Xpress it card using Versafine Ink. Emboss with clear p and color NOEL with the Copics. Corner round three corners and apply pop dots to back (secure permanently with E6000 glue. Apply stamped panel to card base.

Here's a closer look at the background. Kinda reminds me of wrapping paper. I love the rich look and the two-tone look of the red on the poinsettias.

Captain Frogger for Christmas???

Why YES! I love Captain Frogger (aka Charles Bristow) designs from QKD and I just HAD to try making one into a saucy Christmas Card for someone special...

So, FUN huh? It's not your traditional Christmas card, but I think it'll be a hit. Kinda think that Chelsea-The school Girl is laying down and writing a Christmas List...Well, maybe. I wonder if she can read and write very well. Take a look at what she's got on her floor and on her bulletin board. A little challenged, eh? Maybe her pony tails are too tight??? HEE HEE... The Christmas lights were created with my old QuickCutz lights 2x2 die.

Anyway, this funky gal needed a funky card so I used my Cuttlebug number embossing template to give her a background (inked with White brilliance ink) and then added some doodled lights. You might notice I also cut the bottom of the card at a "wonky" angle to fit the theme. Adding some QK lights was the finishing touch!

I had to make the perfect sentiment (and inside message) so I used the font Viner Hand..Perfect!

Boy, school is kickin' my but. Late nights and even later workdays, leave this stamper wishing for SUMMER vacation! My poor pooch. I've gotta get out of the classroom before 9 each night!

I'm spending this weekend catching up. Yep, I didn't have any time to post my Wednesday post, even had SIRI remind me to do it but work took over. I love that I can give myself reminders on my new Iphone, but when I can't access my blog at work, I'm in BIG trouble!

Directions: This frame measures 6 1/2 x 4 inches. The coordinating gift tag measures approximately 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches.

Cut cardstock base to size. Cut white cardstock 1/4 inch smaller. Attach to base layer. Cut deer patterned paper approximately 3 1/2 inches and attach to panel. Stamp trees with black ink and cut out. Cut border and attach to deer layer. Arrange trees and stamped sentiment (matted onto wheat cardstock) onto card layer. Attach velvet scalloped ribbon directly to outside of frame with Zip Dry Glue. Tie ribbon around frame.

For Tag: Use coordinating paper to draw deer freehand. Cut out and apply to white cardstock and layer to wheat tag. Attach ribbon, button, bow and add doodling border, and eye (with White pearl Liquid Pearls and a Sharpie marker). Attach ribbon to edge of tag with staple and the project is complete!

QKD Birthday Greetings again. Here's a cute card created with this adorable image from Artemiss Creations. This kind-of reminded me of the cute little birdies on the Disney movies. You know, the ones that always hang around flighty princesses??? HEE HEE...

Ok...Another pretty color combination. I love the colors and think they're perfect for a Christmas greeting...

A closer peek at the garland and you can see how I combined a multitude of Green Copics to give it the dimension and texture.

This image is called Christmas Robins and is by Artemiss Creations. Well, I didn't envision robins, but I did envision those little bluebirds tweeting around Cinderella or Snow White so that's how I colored them ")...

Hey stampin' friends, I'm back to share my Heartfelt Creations creations (hee hee) with you today. This week, I'm catching up with my lost post from last week so I've got TWO cards to share with you. You see, last week was just JAM PACKED with school conferences, preparing for them, planning after them, having meetings, and also a visit to the hospital as my father went through a heart procedure. All is good now, so I hope I am back on track for good...I'm pooped though!

My first card is probably one of my most favorite this year. I just love the color combo, the texture and the collage stamping. I also LOVE the dove image...It's going to be very popular on my Christmas cards!

So here's a closer look at the texture created on the ornament stamp. I used some gold Liquid Pearls to create the look.

Take a look at the yummy ribbon...I got it a while back and was hoarding it because I LOVE how it feels...It's by May Arts and it's a suede type of ribbon...Just deelish!

Directions:
Stamp Peace dove onto copic cardstock using versafine ink then clear emboss. Cut out and distress using Tea stain ink and VersaMagic ink. Apply stickles sparingly to openwork of scrolls then set aside. Stamp large ornament onto copic cardstock using Tea Stain Ink. Stamp sentiment in collage manner onto paper as well. Distress with tea stain then burnish edges with fingernail. Apply this layer to brown cardstock 4x5.25 inches. Color Poinsettia with blue Copics then apply Stickles. Attach dove with pop dots and zip dry then attach ribbon. Apply liquid pearls on ornament. Apply cardfront to card base and the card is complete.

Here's my second card. You've gotta see this card in person. It's SO SPARKLY! I just LOVE the microfine glitter and the sticky tape...SO FUN!

Directions:

Stamp image onto white cardstock and color with copics. Cut using large oval die then cut sticky tape to same size. Attach sticky tape carefully and apply microfine glitter. Tap/Rub excess glitter off tape and place back into container. Attach image to scalloped oval and set aside. Emboss flourish onto white cardstock layer then rub Sea Foam ink from pad directly over raised image. Attach embossed layer to red card base (Sandard A2) then attach Image with pop dots (secure with zip dry glue). Wrap and tie ribbons around card and focal image and the card is complete.

Hey stamping friends! It's been forever (it seems) since I sat down to post something for my blog. School is kicking my bum this year and I seem to spending most of my life there. I hope things settle down but I'm not expecting things to change...With all these late nights and long working weekends, being a teacher is not as much fun as it used to be!

I spent some time this weekend working on cards and projects for my blog and for the two design teams I am on. I feel really disgusted that I can't spend more time in my stamping room and can't wait for a holiday break to relax! You know, stamping for me is RELAXATION!

Sooo....enough of that...on to my projects.

You know that we're closing in on QKD's birthday right? November 19 will be the 5 year birthday! Can you believe it??? For the whole month, we've been prepping and celebrating so today, I'm sharing my newest creation:

Isn't he the cutest??? This is a tag/ornament I created for the first challenge. I used the adorable image called Kisses for Sale by Artemiss Creations as well as my own doodling (snow and igloo) to create an icy sweet scene.

Begin with A2 Bazzill card base. Cut patterned paper to 4x5 1/4 and distress with Ranger ink. Apply to upper left corner of card base. Set aside. Stamp Shepherd image onto Copic cardstock with vintage sepia ink. Heat set. Color image sparingly with Copic E00, then distress with vintage photo ink. Machine stitch around edge of image and apply distressed crepe paper to left edge. Tie twine around edge. Stamp Poinsettias onto remaining patterned paper, cut out with diecuts and trim excess if desired. Distress with ranger distress ink. Attach brad to both flowers and attach to card. Apply silver bling with Zip Dry glue then color over with brown Copic to match the color scheme.

Well, there are a LOT more fabulous images in this new collection and I thought I'd share three cards I made using the new stamps...

I wanted to create a little music book with the new book stamps. I just stamped several of the same images and cut a few smaller than the original image to layer on top of each other. It goes really well with the embossing folder too.

Here's a card that I'll definitely be mass producing for Christmas this year. I love the simplicity of it and the masculine feel...

Of course, you know me...no card is complete without a little ribbon and sparkle ")

Now I didn't start out thinking I could use this patterned paper...Actually, I had stamped the image and wanted to apply it to a white card base, then the patterned paper was just a little POP of color it needed.

Here you can see the embossing on the image...

And added a little doodling to bring in the snowflakes on the ornament. Just had to tie it all together!!!

Hope you enjoyed these cards! I'm definitely excited about this collection and if you're on my Christmas Card list this year, you just might have something from me with some of the images. LOVE IT!

Bells will be ringing....What fun it was to create this card. It's a card with a dual purpose...the bell is an ornament! I'm so loving the newest stamps in the Christmas collection and I bet you are too! You'll FLIP when you see NEXT month's collection!!!

Creating this card this weekend kinda helped me with my cold. Yes, I have my season-change cold. Every time the season changes, I get a special gift...a horrible cold! It lasts for about a week and always follows the same pattern...so I know the signs...NO FUN!

Directions: Begin with A2 sized blue card base. Cut front of card base to leave 1 inch difference in layer (to allow diecut edge to fit to size). Diecut fancy edge using teal cardstock and apply to right edge as shown. Attach ribbon to this border.

OHHH I hate being sick. No ummph to my step. I just wanna sleep. It's my usual change-of-season cold, I think. It kicks me in the but every time!

This week at Woodware USA we're sharing cards made for Fall...Here's mine. It's simple and easy to do.

I imagined some leaves falling from a tree...The sets Mixed Greetings and Leafy Accents worked perfectly. To add a little pizazz, I applied Stickles to the leaves. Hope you like it!

Directions: Cut a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of patterned paper and glue/wrap edges to canvas. Distress with distress ink then rub with Gala Glitz (with finger) sparingly. Stamp silent night image onto canvas. Stamp small poinsettias onto red cardstock with black ink then cut out. Glue Gala Glitz onto larger flower and let dry. Assemble flower with brad and attach to canvas. Stamp candle and color with Copic Markers then apply Stickles. Attach to canvas with pop dots. Tie ribbon into bow and attach around canvas. Distress easel with distress ink. Rub Gold and Red Stickles around edges of canvas. Glue Canvas to easel with Zip Dry Glue.

Directions: Stamp winter background onto blue (Typhoon) Bazzill cardstock with Versafine ink. Emboss with Stardust Embossing Glitter (Stampendous). Cut around swirls at bottom of image. Distress paper with Versamagic Sea Breeze ink. Glue this panel at top edge of card base. Stamp and emboss angel onto Copic paper and cut out with coordinating die. Color with copic markers as desired then Distress with Versamagic ink. Apply to card front using pop dots. Tie silver ribbon around card front and angel. Stamp two smaller poinsettias onto white cardstock and attach together with a bling brad. Attach this to ribbon and angel.

For inside of card, stamp and emboss additional background image onto white cardstock. Cut approximately 1 inch border of this design and attach to blue cardstock. Add ribbon and a bow and adhere panel on inside of card.

A Doodly Christmas Greeting...

Helloooooo!!! We're celebrating Christmas early at the Woodware USA blog this week so I decided to have a little fun with one of my newest sets...Garden Gnomes and Ribbon Banners! Since this set is really for Spring, I doodled a Christmas scene...drew a house, added some snow and some festive lights and started coloring! SOOO FUN!

Here's a little gift bag I created using some of the Basket collection and the AWESOME flower background stamp!!! It's actually a poinsettia background set but it works so well as an everyday background too!!!

This little pocket on the front can hold a tag or a gift card (or CASH).

Did a little stitching on the "pocket" to give it a little more finishing and also to hold the front flap down without the use of glue.

The little tag was stamped with the basketweave background and then cut with the basket die. It is snipped along the edge of the handle so it can slide on and off of the bag.

Attach fancy trim to top of gift bag. Cut two baskets from die and cream cardstock. Stamp one basket with Sepia ink using the basketweave stamp and emboss with clear ink. Distress with black dry pad and vintage photo ink. Use mat knife to cut out "hole" in basketweave. Tie ribbon around basket. Distress other basket diecut then glue both baskets together. cut one side of basket handle to slip onto bag handle. Stamp Holly background onto rust cardstock using sepia ink. Emboss then distress. Stitch edge around bottom then fold top flap down. Stitch along top of fold to keep flap secure. Distress. attach tulle to strip of scrap paper then attach to holly background "pocket" using zip dry glue. Attach "pocket" by adding glue only around outside and bottom edge. Insert remaining tulle inside bag for filler.

Woodware Monday...Anything Goes...

A few weeks ago I received an order from twopeas with TONS of 6x6 patterned paper pads. I've been working hard to use paper from them and even made a point of it by placing the packs right on my workspace...In My FACE, so to speak...Now I think I'll use them and not just keep them on my shelf!

So I decided to use this pretty paper collection from Sassafras Wee Bundle. It's got some BEAUTIFUL papers in it! I knew I wanted to use the strip of flowery paper and the cross stitch pattern but had no idea how I would incorporate them into a card. SO I spent over an hour twisting, rotating and arranging the paper on my yellow card base before finally deciding on a layout. The tag just happened to be on my desk from another project I was working on (I've got six of these tags made) and I thought it worked PERFECTLY for the sentiment (Salutations) on this card. Breaks up the horizontal "strippyness" of the card, I think. This card measures 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 so it's a bit skinnier than the average A2 card.

The tag was painted with layers of teal, opal and crackle paint then doodled with a white paint pen. Strung the buttons on some hot pink DMC floss and tied it on the front of the card.

Water, Water, EVERYWHERE!

You know, Hurricane Irene had me about NUTS! I was so afraid my lower level was going to flood. For hours, I scooped water-bucket after bucket. I knew if I didn't, the water would reach the bottom of my doorstep and it would seep in through the foundation...OH WHAT TORTURE! I was stuck between scooping water OR going to Lowes to find a solution...I finally decided that I HAD to go find a solution even if I had to clean water up when I returned. So...during the torrential downpour, I sloshed to Lowes to look for some type of downspout extender. They were TOTALLY wiped out. OF COURSE They were wiped out! Right? I rushed over to Home Depot and found exactly what I needed. PHEW! Headed back home and saved the day! I was about to have a nervous breakdown!

After that fiasco, I needed to relax a bit...CHILL OUT...so I headed to my stamping room. Wierd, I picked the most interesting stamps to use... What do you think my muse was telling me???

Nautical...Who whould have thought? Kinda gives me a little chuckle now that I reflect on it!

Stamp Board frame onto gray cardstock. Cut out and apply pop dots. Stamp sentiment onto another piece of gray cardstock with Memento ink. Stamp seagull image onto Copic Xpress it card and cut out. Color with Copic Markers and distress with dry Versafine Onyx pad. Attach frame to sentiment piece and pop seagull image between layers. Attach stamped panel to black cardstock base.

Woodware Monday...

Phew- I'm glad I was able to get this posted. Hurricane Irene has brought TONS of rain to my home and I've had a flood scare. I hurried to a few shops to get some downspout extenders to try to keep the rain from creating a flood pool around my back stoop. Ughhh..How stressful. As I write this now (Saturday at 4:00 EST), I'm hoping that my quick fix solves the problem and I do not have to stay awake all night scooping water!

The Hurricane allowed me a little time to stamp this morning -before I noticed the "flooding" dangers and I wanted to take advantage of my electricity as it may be gone in a few hours. I was able to create this card for the Woodware USA Blog 3-2-1 challenge this week:

Hey friends! Here today to share another fun creation made with my Heartfelt Creations stamps. This time, It's a cute little tag album that someone can add some of their precious b&w photos in. Take a peek:

I wanted to use some of my new 6x6 My Minds Eye paper packs with this project and I felt the pink tags and stamp images I selected would work really well with the Everyday Flair set. I Love the papers and with a little aging ink it looks even better!

Directions: Stamp birdhouse onto four tags using desert sand ink. Stamp bees on one tag and butterflies on the final tag using desert sand ink. Distress edges with desert sand ink. Cut 1 inch strips of patterned paper and attach to edges of tags. Use trim and ribbons to embellish edges of patterned paper. Distress patterned paper with desert sand ink. Cut kraft cardstock into 2 1/2 inch squares and 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 inch rectangles to place on front and back of tags. These will become mats for the photos you include in the album. Tie tags together using decorative ribbon. Attach flat back pearls with zip dry glue to permanently adhere to project.

Hey stamping friends. It's WoodwareUSA Monday and I've got something NEW to share...Well, two somethings, to be exact! Just last week I noticed that Woodware USA posted some brand spankin' new sets aptly titled "2011 FALL RELEASE" and practically wet my pants with joy! SOOO many fabulous stamp sets just sneaked up on me. I was soooo giddy! So giddy in fact that I purchased two sets. They arrived on Friday (all the way from California) and I knew I had to play with them right away! SUPER fast shipping don't you think?

Anyway, what did I get you may ask? Well, I think I put about seven or eight of the new sets in my shopping cart but upon checkout I rethought that idea since school is starting soon and I need all the extra funds I can get to get my classroom ready for new students. SOOO...I put things back on the shelf (wink) except for two sets that wouldn't budge this time...

MEET MR. GARDEN GNOME:

Cute 'eh? Isn't this gnome adorable? How about that ribbon banner and sentiment? PERFECT!!! I colored up this little gnome with no blending of color...I wanted him to be flat and colorful. I did think about the colors. I colored a few of these gnomes with red hats (like the ones in gardens) and also colored some with yellow hats. I REALLY love it! Since this week is all about "use a new technique", I decided to do a little strip of fabric-well, not really a strip of fabric but 1/2 x 1/x inch squares of patterned paper from My Minds Eye that I got NEW last week. It's called Everyday Flair and I'm in LUVVV!

So...Not really a new technique, but I did use all NEW stamps and NEW paper....That's gotta count for something right?

This is a close up of the paper, stitching and the sentiment. I just love the gingham checks int this paper set.

Captain Frogger to the Rescue!!!

Yipee! I finally found the stamps I've been looking for! I tore this house up for a whole week trying to find my QKD Captain Frogger stamps and YAHOO!!! I just happened to find them this morning. I looked on my desk in my bedroom when I woke up this morning and there they were...HIDING! As soon as I found them, I headed over to my stamp room and made a card. I've gotta get some EZ-Mount to make them stamp REALLY good but they did the trick for now just taped to my block. Yeah, I know I can put a foam mat underneath, but I LOVE EZ Mount!!!

I've got another announcement to make! I'm a new designer for QKD! I'm so excited! My term doesn't officially start until October, but I'm definitely going to be sharing my work before then. I LOVE the variety and the HUGE collection of stamps they carry (they have EZMount too!). Did you know they even have iron on transfers, fabric blocks and canvas ACEO's??? Yep...AMAZING! My muse is getting all excited to run wild with her artsy self!

Sexy huh? Not my typical traditional style, not cutesy either...SEXY!!! RAWRRRRRRRR! And take a close look...She's got a voodoo doll around her waist...Hope she doesn't have to use it! Ouch! This image is by Charles Bristow aka Captain Frogger. It's called Codi: Voodoo Fairy. I really LOVE his style and purchased several of his stamps a few months ago and this is the first time I've felt fiesty enough to play with them.

Heartfelt Wednesday...I've got Goosebumps!

No, not what you think...I got some TSUKENIKO Goosebumps spray a few weeks ago to try out and boy, do I love it! I used it on the card I'm sharing today and I think I'm going to be using it a lot more in the future.

The "flecky" background was created by directly applying the Goosebumps spray over a stamped image, then rubbing Ranger distress ink over the top of that. After wiping away the excess ink with a cloth, what is left behind is something similar to the resist you make with embossing powder...except this is a much more cool "FLECKY" look...SO cool!

See..Isn't it cool? Kinda looks like old paper that's been stained by the sun. But you've gotta FEEL it to believe it...It's slippery and bumpy...very COOL texture!

Here's the flower I made using some Inka Gold (Love that stuff!) and the petal die. And take a look at the shape that's under the flower...It's made from black shrink plastic...YUM!

Here's a close up of the ribbon treatment. I needed a bit of a rustic feel so I think the black fiber braid and the twine worked well. Love that wrinkly paper too? I don't know where it came from. I thought it was Hanko paper (I LOVE HANKO PAPERS) but I don't think it is.

Woodware Monday...Gettin' Sketchy...

Hey stamping friends. It's MONDAY and that means it's Woodware USA Blog Challenge day! This week's challenge is a fun one. I designed a sketch for you to play with. It's a fun sketch and it incorporates some simple layout design and of course, a little bit of embellishing fun! So here's my sketch:

When I design sketches, I just go with the flow...I don't stop until I think it looks...perfect...The crucial part is in creating a card that looks just as perfect. I always wonder if something fabulous can be made from the sketch because I've had some DUDS...let me tell you!

I can say that this has to be one of my most favorite sketches EVER! I LOVED how my card ended up coming out and I think it has so much to do with the sketch. It works so well wit those sentiment circles I love to make. Hey, come to think of it, did you know that you can turn many of your WoodwareUSA sentiments into circular formation stamps? Another beautiful thing about clear stamps is that you can manipulate them into any shape or "flow" on the block. I didn't do that with this card as the sentiment was already in a circular form.

So here's my card. I got some cream crepe paper at the Melissa Frances booth at CKC Valley Forge a few weeks ago because I loved all the projects they had in their booth that incorporated it. I could have shopped that booth forever that day...so shabby, so pretty, so beautiful!!! If you look closely at the flower in the center of the "medallion", you can see that I created it from the crepe paper too. Pretty simple to create actually. I colored the crepe paper with some Ranger Spun Sugar ink to make it really girly then punched some circles out. After that, I folded the circles in quarters and just cut some strips with my scissors. I opened up the cut circles and glued/layered them on top of each other then "szhusshed" (Really technical, huh?) them up a bit...Voila! The little blossom brad in the center has been in my stash forever and I have never used it-so I think it found the perfect spot on this card!

This ribbon had to have a little something so I added a bit of bling...just a touch, right?

I also distressed the edges of the patterned paper (Valentine Die Cut Cardmaking pad by Kelly Panacci for Kand Co).

So on to my creation...

This is a special fold (kind of gate fold) card that is double sided. When mailed, it is folded together and the basket is placed on top. The whole card is then tied with a ribbon.

When open, the card can be viewed in two ways:

This is like the "inside" or back of the card. When the flowers are moved to this side and the flower panels are moved inwards, you see the inside which is stamped with the basketweave backround and has the sentiment stamped in the upper portion of the card.

Kraft, Red and a hint of....WoodwareUSA Monday...

Hello stamping friends! This week on the WoodwareUSA blog it's all about Kraft, Red and....any other color! Ok..So as an artist, I know that Black and White are not colors, they are shades...SOOO...My added color was the tan...and because I needed to add some ribbon, the YELLOW worked perfectly...(That doesn't count because it's an embellishment, right? HEE HEE). I decided to start prepping for the back to school adventures that will begin at the end of the month for me. You see, as a teacher, the excitement begins just before school starts when I recieve a "LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL". In this letter, I find out about the new hires and those that have moved on. I also get a schedule of my first week back which is always PACKED with meetings, meetings, meetings. Another special thing I get in this letter is my tentative class list. I LOVE finding out who will be in my learning community. I always prepare a little "WELCOME TO YOUR NEW CLASS!" card with a little handwritten letter.

So, in preparation for approximately 25 cards to be mailed, I experiment with different ideas. This is one of them. Although "chalkboards" have been replaced with white boards and SmartBoards, I still enjoy thinking back to the time when we did have them...not so much about the mess they left behind...

It's a pretty simple design, don't you think? I loved stamping the little School Tots in white ink and not having to color them in. They look perfectly happy peeking out like mischevious little doodles on the chalk board.

Now there will be a brand spankin' new teacher on my teaching team this year so perhaps if this doesn't make the mass production line for my new kiddos, it might make it into her "Welcome to the TEAM!" packet!

Botanical Bliss...Heartfelt Wednesday...

Hey stamping friends! It's another fabulous Wednesday and boy, did I have a blast at CKC in Valley Forge. I had so much fun working the booth and doing the Make N Take. It felt like over the three days I saw about 1000 beautiful and unique flowers made. Perhaps you were one of the lucky ones to get all inky and "SPARKLY!"

Anyway, I'm back and ready to share another creation I made using one of my most favorite sets EVER: Botanical Gardens...I LOVE the earthy images and how they can be combined with most other stamps in my collection. As you might also notice, they work well with hand scribed sentiments. I decided to use just a tiny bit of patterned paper and even cut out a little butterfly found on that paper too. I trimmed the card with some yummy ribbon, as usual.

So LOVE how earthy and serene the card looks...Simple and perfect...My sentiment says: "Nature reflects the gifts of the Creator". I'm always in awe of all that He has created in nature, so beautiful and perfect!

Soooooo Sorry you can't make it. I'll be thinking of you! LOL....

This card was created with some new patterned paper I picked up at my favorite local (or not so local) stamping store Angela's Happy Stamper. I loved the pattern in this design and thought it would be fun to use it for this week's card. See the patterned paper in the background? That's what is leftover as the flowery section on my card is just the edge of the paper!

Take a close look at the red paper. You can see that I stamped the leaves with Memento Rhubarb ink.

Woodware Monday....Stamped backgrounds...

This week at WoodwareUSA we're using our stamps to design our backgrounds... I don't use a lot of patterned paper (I tend to hoard it instead) and rely a lot on plain cardstock for my cards. One of my favorite techniques is to stamp my cardstock with the stamps I'm using in the focal image. I REALLY love to create watermarked images on Kraft paper so that's what I did on this card. You've gotta look close to see the image, but it's just enough contrast to pick up the flat paper and give it some needed depth. I used Ranger Antique Linen to make the watermark effect on Kraft cardstock.

I wanted a really big sentiment on the graph paper and didn't have a stamp that size so I penciled a sentiment and then traced over it with my black Copic Multiliner pen. And it had an I so I could add a little BLING!!! I also used a little chipboard flower that I had sitting around. Just peeled off the plastic coated patterned paper off and added some distressing.

The flowers are stamped with Versafine Onyx ink and colored with Artist Chalk and rubbed to blend with Glycerin and a blending stump. I layered my flowers on a chipboard flower I distressed with Versacolor Ocean Depth ink. Adding a little red May Arts polkadot ribbon just gave it some POP and finished off my card. Notice the little scalloped edge? It was some hoarded scraps from an old Sassafrass Lass page I've had forever...LOVE IT!

Hey stampers! Today I'm sharing a card I made for a contest that will begin soon on THE STAMP SHACK. It's been a long time coming, but Shack contests and challenges are BACK and I'm excited about it! I'm sharing a card created for SURVIVOR...An elimination game where participants post a card in hopes that their card does not get eliminated...

I bet mine will get elimintated real soon in the competition because it has some traditional items that are usually on the top of the chopping block. SO here are the "popular items"

Heartfelt Wednesday...and here I come CKC!

Hello Stampers! Yipee! It's Wednesday and I'm excited to share a few projects I've been working on for Heartfelt Creations. I LOVE the Botanical garden collection and the flowers are SO pretty. I wonder if you had a chance to stop in at the booth during CHA. What did it look like? I'm so sad that I wasn't able to attend and help out in the booth, but couldn't do it...I am headed to the CKC Valley Forge next week so if you're at the convention center, stop at the booth, I'll be there lending a helping hand! You might even see me shopping the aisles for new paper, paper, paper and fun embellishments!!!

OK...so I've been thinking of making a badge holder for work for a LONG time but didn't ever get going on it. Heading to the CKC convention changed that. I knew I could wear it and dress up the badge that we get when we are helping on the floor. It's a lot better than the plain white thingie anyday! Actually, I made TWO badges. My first one was made specifically for me with my first initial on it. I couldn't send that to them! So after I made mine, I made them one...without any personalization. I figure, they can add the Heartfelt Creations logo or someone's name or something themselves. So wanna see them???

Here's MINE:

My work badge will get inserted in the pouch so it can be displayed on the other side. I hate wearing my face around my neck so this will be a great thing that I can keep it turned around and nobody will know. I think this will be my DRESSY one and I plan on making some playful grade level ones (I'm a Fourth grade teacher) with my teaching team. It should be FUN!

Here's the close-up of my card. I handwrote the company name along the edge and added the date. The Spellbinders icon and cream initial circle as well as the tiny "blinged" flower were added to the outside of the plastic badge holder with Zip-Dry glue. I put them on the outsided because I didn't want them to get smushed inside and I think it gives the piece added dimension!!!

Of course...Wouldn't you know it...I added some Stickles and some bling...Can't do without that!

Here's the one I'm sending to Heartfelt Creations:

Oh how I wanted to keep this and not send it to HC! I just LOVE the color scheme and how it turned out. So pretty!!! I decided to pull out my warm gray Copics this time. Kinda reminds me of some Asian artwork I've seen before. I'd love to see patterned paper come out like this!

I wanted the gray flowers to come more to the foreground so I added some gray-purple around them. Adding the meandering line around the piece was the perfect touch to bring everything together.

Here's a close up of the flowers and the SPARKLES!!!

This is the flower that is on the badge reel. Covering up that mechanical thingie was a MUST and there was no better solution than to use an HC flower!!! I think I'm going to make a HUGE one with like 8 or 9 layers next time and it'll stretch almost all the way to the badge itself!!! Wouldn't that be fabulous!!

Woodware USA Sketch Challenge...

This week at Woodware USA we're using a sketch I created to make some cards. This sketch incorporates a tag...a perfect way to give a little bookmark, gift card, or something special to the recipient!

Here's my sketch:

For this card I went to my favorite green Bazzill Cardstock. PARAKEET...I just LOVE that color. Added some Bazzill Red to give some POP of color and coordinate with the DCWV polkadot paper. I used two WoodwareUSA sets for this card: Large Small Greetings and Sharing a Cuppa. Inks used were Memento Lime Tart and Memento Ladybug. I also colored with my Copics to match the paper...sorry, don't have the #s.

The patterned paper wraps around the back of the tag to cover the whole back of it!

Played around with glossy paper today. I wanted to do a little resist stamping. I love the effect that white ink on glossy cardstock has when it is inked over...then wiped away...so subtle and pretty.

Another delicious flower to use in my cards!!! This time, stamped on the leftover patterned paper used on the same card. Gotta add some ribbon too...I thought the black check gave just the contrast it needed to bring down the formality of the card a bit...Not too stuffy!

Here you can see the glossy cardstock and the stamping of the leaves using white ink as a "mask". After inking the background with a sponge, I rubbed off the white ink to reveal the non-colored image it left behind.

This close-up shows the golden edge created with Rub-n-buff and a little shimmer from copper Tsukeniko shimmer spritz.

And a great CHRISTMAS card using a new FERN stamp in the Woodland Fern Precut Set...I'm going to be doing this quite a bit more...I see gold, silver, green, blue, red trees in the future!

Did some generational stamping with the tree to create some depth and a little rustic feel. Really simple layout was all it needed.

Here was my chance to add some of my much neglected silver and red Stickles. I might go back and connect the dots with some doodling-to create cording like christmas lights...Maybe not.

To finish it off, I used some antique-like clear chunky glitter sitting in my craft room. I think I bought that stuff YEARS ago to decorate some christmas ornaments.

Woodware Monday, Pieces of Paper

This Monday it's all about the pieces...Itty bitty pieces...It's Paper Piecing Week so get out those scraps and go to town!

I used some leftover scraps (TAC Toodle-Loo patterned paper) that were sitting on my crafting table along with a kraft card base complete with a cuttlebugged background. I love to create ruffles with paper, so I added a tiny ruffle too! Of course, no card of mine is complete without a ribbon or some bling so I added a cute little blue bow!

Directions: On A2 sized card base, stamp lace frame with black ink. Cut around sides and bottom to create scalloped edge card. Unfold card and cut center of frame out using mat knife. Distress edges of card with Wheat ink. With card closed, position and stamp sentiment in center of frame. Color hearts and flowers on lace with Spica pens then emboss the hearts using the embossing tools. Add dots of Liquid pearls in flower centers. Set aside to dry. Stamp bell onto Copic cardstock with memento black ink. Distress edges of bell with Wheat ink. Watercolor image using Inka Gold. Use pink for roses, green for leaves and silver for bell. Highlight edges of coloring with Gold Inka Gold and the Lemon Spika. Highlight Flowers with Pink and Peach Spika. Cut out image and emboss the flowers using the embossing tool. Apply bling to centers of flowers with Crystal Lacquer. Attach bell to frame with Zip Dry secured pop dots. Attach cream ribbon at top of card.

Hello Wednesday! I love Wednesdays because I can finally share my projects I've created for Heartfelt Creations!!! This card was created using stamps from two of the newest collections: Wedding and Bella Rose. I SO love these collections. The teacup was paper pieced and the colors are just berryliscious! The Shabby Chic lace stamp works perfectly on the edge.

This week is extra special because we're also having a BLOG HOP!!!

We're going to share a little SNEAK of what's to be expected at Summer CHA...just a TASTE, not the whole thing, of course!

Many of the HC designers created SHOES!!! So take a stroll through the design team's blog posts this week and you can check them all out!!! We're tempting you with a lovely variety of designs each very special and unique! So...If you came from the Heartfelt Creations blog, you're on the right track. I made a little girl's sandal. I didn't have a pattern but I had an idea in my head and went with it! I'm working on a pattern and will share it soon. It's actually pretty simple (except for the heel which was the most time consuming to make so perfect!!! The sandal straps were machine stitched and stamped with Bella Rosebud Precut Set. I also added some stickles over some of the stamping to make it sparkle. The flower was created from the Daisy Patch Die. The little silver tag attached to the checked ribbon says "inspire".

Woodware Monday...a Sketch Challenge!

Hey, Hey! Welcome to MONDAY! I'm getting so excited because I have only two half days left of school!!! I'm SOOOO ready for summer vacation!!!

It's time to break out a new challenge! This week at Woodware USA blog, we're using a sketch I created to inspire you. I just love creating sketches and it's such an honor to have been invited to share them with you!!!

This is such a simple sketch! It's so versatile too.

Here's my card inspired by the sketch:

I used a couple sets to create this country chic card. Leafy Swirls and Circular Greetings combine to create the perfect card! To create the top and bottom border, I used a Martha Stewart punch. Oh and forgive the tattered stitching...My machine was giving me fits!

Wedding Wish...

Well, We're right in the middle of Wedding season! When I received the Bella Rose collection in the mail a few weeks ago, I began having visions of how to use it. I hardly ever use stamping ink of any color other than my BLACK ink but for some reason, All I kept thinking of when I saw this lace and the roses was RED and GOLD...So I worked hard to duplicate my vision...The distressed edges on the image strips was an after thought when I was done because I felt it needed a little shabby contrast to go with the overly formal look. Anyone that knows me knows that I AM NOT A FORMAL GAL...so I had to wrinkle things up a bit!!!

Stamp Bella Rosebud repeatedly onto white cardstock. Cut into one inch strips then distress with tea dye ink. Add gold glitter to centers of small flowers. Assemble strips onto red cardstock layer that is 3x5 inches. Stamp Shabby Lace with red ink onto white cardstock. Cut out and distress with tea dye ink. Attach lace to red stamped panel. Attach ribbon and gold doily. Stamp sentiment and roses onto white cardstock with Versafine Onyx. Emboss with gold EP. Cut sentiment and flowers as shown and corner round sentiment. Distress with Vintage Photo ink. Attach sentiment with pop dots, attach flowers with glue and add adhesive backed pearls onto ribbon. Apply this panel to a white card base measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches.

Finished size: 4 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches.

Saturday marked my nephew's birthday. He's grown up so fast. In honor of his birthday, I made this card...Not to send to him, but to celebrate. I think it's a little girly for him and he'd rather have something with a sports theme...or maybe a kayak...or even better, just a check!

This week on the Woodware USA blog we're challenging you to create a MASCULINE card. I hardly ever make "manly" cards so this was a perfect opportunity to get out some great papers and BUILD...HEE HEE... I dug deep into my precious stack of patterned papers and found this OLD piece of Karen Foster paper. I think it's house drafting plans, but not positive. Anyway, It was a perfect manly addition. I also added some hinges, because when there is building, you need things to hook together some how right?

A Special Treat...

I love walking through the aisles of my local Joanne's. I just find that my muse is in the perfect place. As I walk, I notice things...then think of ways to creatively work with it...One thing I really enjoy searching for are little gift pouches...you know, the ones you find stuffed full of cookie mixes, candies and hot chocolate during the winter months? Well, last winter, I went down the aisle and found a box of tea...I didn't really want the tea, but boy did I want that box...SHEESH...Can you believe it? I bought the gift bag and took it home...I've used the box as a template several times and it's got to be one of my most favorite templates EVER! So... here it is, a lovely little gusseted gift bag....

The paper is from DCWV Linen Closet. I just love this line of papers. So shabby, but can also turn into an elegant piece with the help of some sparkly ribbon. The stamp set used is from Heartfelt Creations and it's called Spring Birdies and Roses Precut Set.

Of course, I couldn't possibly finish this piece without adding some sparkle...Stickles, that is!!!

This holiday weekend I've been making flowers...Yes, making flowers! Paper ones to be exact. I'm trying to build a good collection of pretty embellishments to put on my cards and projects. With Heartfelt Creations exclusive dies from Spellbinders AND my Grand Calibur, I'm whippin' these puppies up in no time! They remind me of my childhood days picking blueberries though...Pick one, eat one, pick one eat two...Hopefully I won't stop every time I make a flower to make a card to go with it!

I did stop to make a card this time. I used some deelish paper Linda B. sent me in a care package a few weeks ago. I just love KaiserCraft paper and this collection is just to die for!!! Pinks, burgundy, green, cream, tan, DEELISH, I say!

The other week I went shopping for more Spellbinders dies so I decided to use one of them on this card too. I love the elegant designs and find they work beautifully to accent my Heartfelt Creations images and sentiments. Of course, if you create a card that has a patchwork design that's quite busy, you need something that won't overpower it too...so this little circle die did the trick!!! Oh and see that little bit of lace? I had a bag of it hiding in my ribbon drawer...from WAAYY back!!! Love it!

There's machine stitching galore on this card as I wanted this card to feel like a cozy quilt...A patchwork of memories...all rolled up into "ONLY ONE YOU"...Even though there's only one YOU, it took a LOT of pieces to create the perfect YOU!

Forgotten...Discovered...Uncovered...

I've got so many stamping supplies and embellishments hiding in my crowded craft room. The've been hidden, tucked away and practically forgotten but this week's WoodwareUSA Blog challenge changed that for a few little embellishments that have been rediscovered!!!

This week's challenge at WoodwareUSA Blog is to create something using some forgotten embellishments. What a wonderful idea! Time to start organizing, pitching and purging right? Well, that's more difficult than said and it's taking me a LONG time to get this "crap" room under control. I'm hoping some stamp sales and ebay auctions will help this summer. Lord knows I'm defintiely over capacity!!!

I found some K&Co butterflies and some of that once-popular fuzzy yarn in one of my drawers and decided they would be my "forgotten embellishments". Well, they may have been forgotten in that drawer, but when they were pulled out, I knew exactly what they were meant to be for...just didn't get around to it...I guess that's what a lot of my stuff is about...Ideas, Ideas, Ideas...that don't get around to it!!!

For this card I used some old ribbon threaded lace, some fuzzy yarn and that pretty little butterfly...all forgotten items in my ribbon drawer...
Paired these embellishments with the stamp set Leafy Swirls and a Spellbinder's Floral Doily Accents.

I decided to keep this card pretty simple as I wanted to set the focus on the sentiment and the butterfly. The yellow ribbon is just a little reminder...to remember those lost or away...They'll find their way HOME...

The inside layout in my card is kind-of the reverse.

Heartfelt Wednesday...

It's WEDNESDAY...and you know what that means! Another share of my most recent card creations for Heartfelt Creations. It's a CRAZY BUSY time of year for me as I'm feeverishly preparing my students for state testing so any opportunity to stop and craft is a pure blessing, for sure! I can't wait until testing is over (three weeks from now) and we're in the "Closing up Shop" stage of school. I'm finally seeing the homestretch....

This weekend I sat down for a spell and played with my Bella Rose collection as well as some shadow block images I've had for a while. I've got so many ideas in my head for those shadow blocks!!! For now, I wanted to create something shabby, something vintage looking. Not quite sure it fits the bill, but I do like the coloring on the vase/roses...

Gettin' Sketchy with Woodware USA...

This week we're getting SKETCHY! Join us as we use the above sketch I created to make a fun card. You can use it AS IS or tweak it if you wish..If we can "see" the sketch in your card, IT WORKS!!! So join the fun, make something, post it and cross your fingers...You just may win a fabulous prize!!!

My Card:

I decided to go a little spa-like for this card. First, I selected my color palate. Then I selected the two sets that were perfect for this palate: Large/Small Greetings and Ornamental Flourishes. After I was all finished stamping, sewing and assembling the front panel, I squirted a few squirts of Tsukeniko Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle all over the panel, then attached the panel to a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of white cardstock.

The four inchies were created by stamping the Ornamental Flourishes stamp using Blue Lagoon Colorbox Chalk ink. The little happy/you sentiments were stamped in Bisque Colorbox Chalk ink. Adding a bit of Stardust Stickles and a few bits o' bling just made them the perfect little embellishments along the side of my card. Since I added sentiment-like words all over my card, I decided to leave off the sentiment at the edge...just not necessary for this card.

Here you can see a little bit of the shimmer...and some Stickles to make the teal HELLO POP!

And here's the final product...Simple and spa-like, don't you think?

Now on with a few projects to tempt your muse...

For this card, I stepped away from my Copics (SHOCK!) and went "Old School" with my colored pencils and Gamsol. I thought the rose needed a bit more of a rustic feel and that I could achieve using my colored pencils and a bit of distress ink.

My second card was actually my first....Created before the storm...Like I said, this collection went through a BIG storm and...just like a butterfly travels through storm and struggle, it finds a way to get home...This collection did the same, it's home and more beautiful than ever!

I created this card for my mom for Mother's Day. I just LOVE the collage design in this stamp set and I really felt I needed to continue the theme with the beautiful butterfly in the collection...Just a bunch of traveling ladies..Powerful and so significant. Don't they look like they are resting after a long, long journey???

Here's a closer peek at the distressing I did on the collage itself. I love the rich colors and the pop of the sparkles...

Something borrowed, something blue...

Yeah, that's what they say...Wan't good luck and a lasting union? All you need is "Something borrowed, something blue, a shiny penny in your shoe"...or something like that right? I don't know about all this mumbo-jumbo wedding stuff, but there is one thing for sure, I LOVE BLUE and borrowed (gifted in my case) goodies!!!

This week at Woodware USA we're creating WEDDING cards. I decided to make a pretty simple card...Simple and elegant. I used some light blue cardstock mixed with white and a little kraft paper to create this card. Take a look at the rub-on at the bottom of the blue panel...That was my inspiration! Yep, I received that little goodie (along with the yummy Martha Stewart ribbon) in a huge package of embellishments and paper from Dawn and thought it would be PERFECT on a wedding card. All the yummy embellishments helped add some extra formality to the sentiment from ALL THROUGH THE YEAR. It's a great sentiment set that is a go to in creating fabulous cards!!!

Heartfelt Wednesday...

It's another Wednesday, and that means I get to share with you the projects I've created for Heartfelt Creations. It's a busy time at school with state testing right around the corner, so any time I can spend in my stamping room is much needed respite care...It helps maintain my sanity at this CRAZY time of year!!!

I decided to work with my Grand Calibur this for this card. I love how I can create BIG shaped cards with it!!! I dug into my paper stash and pulled out a fun and playful pattern paper collection! I don't know what it is about pink cardstock, but I just LOVE using it. I love how stamped images look on it in a monochromatic scheme!

Woodware USA's Challenge 25...COLORS!

This week at WoodwareUSA it's a COLOR Challenge!!! Yep, that's right. I LOVE color challenges, especially when they include my favorite color BLUE!

This card was created using the Garden Greetings set. I stamped the Jacaranda Blue Bazzill cardstock with Versamagic wihite ink. Thanks to Dawn too for the lovely Prima flowers...They worked perfectly on this card!

I think right now, I have a thing for using grid paper. I don't know what it is but it's just so pretty to me in combination with blues and browns...and stitching!!!

I LOVE blog hops and can't seem to pass up a good hop when it comes to working with some fabulous products! This hop is ALL about COORDINATION! Yep, Coordinating and combining stamp sets from multiple sources! Yeah, it's not often that I get to have the opportunity to use products by more than one company but today...It's a TREAT! The sentiment is from the Woodware USA set Sympathy Poppy by WoodwareUSA. I just LOVE the circle element from the StampingScrapping set and it's so versatile for backgrounds and borders and everything in between. I think it would work wonderfully with an Asian theme so watch future posts for some projects with that focus!!! The FUNKY rooster in Deuce Roosters worked PERFECTLY with this card.
