Scraps into Treasures...and a challenge!

I'm trying to use-up, clean-up and get rid of my MONSTROUS MESS in my crafting room and decided today to dig into my big pile of scraps. Not the big ones, just the little ones. You know, the kind of scraps you have when you just want to cut of a quarter inch of the edge of a piece of cardstock or better yet, smaller than a quarter inch sliver. Yes, I know I probably should throw these pieces away, but I've always thought that I could use them for something...

Today I went into my craft room and decided to do something with those scraps. I had some of them in practically every color of the rainbow just sitting in a pile on my workspace. I had always envisioned using them to make a fun card front-kinda like a crazy quilt.

I tried it out first on one piece of white cardstock. I kind-of liked it when I was done so I decided to make another one. After the two fronts were done, I had the hardest time finding stamps that would "work" with that kind of busy background. Well, I did find something: a stamped image of this tall cat (Sparkle 'n Sprinkle) given to me by one of my stamping friends at the shack (thanks lakeslady!). Then I decided the cute lucky elephant from Odd Bird Planet would work perfectly on the front of the other card...
So, what do you think? Do you like how I turned scraps into treasures? I challenge you to use your tiny strips of scraps to make a base like the ones here. Post your creation on Stamp-Shack, twopeasinabucket.com, splitcoaststampers.com or papercraftplanet.com using the keywords SCRAPPY CHALLENGE and post a comment with a link here. I've got a huge box of goodies (stamps, embellishments, paper etc) to send to one lucky winner... Entries must be posted no later than this Friday, June 5.
Have Fun!
Kerry
