Blogger Beginnings

Wooo Hoooo!!!! Today is the first day to start my blog. I'm excited but a little nervous. I'm full of questions to myself about my this endeavour...Will I be able to keep this up? What should I post? Who's going to care? What will they find interesting?

Well, I'm just going to jump right in and do it! I'll just amuse myself if that is possible. So here goes...

Some habits I've noticed about my "writing" on the computer: I really do use a lot of elipses! I'm sure you'll see them everywhere here...I just can't seem to get away from them...Oh well! I've also noticed I love, love, love to use contractions. Maybe too much, in fact! I'm going to work on my writing skills so I guess this will be my "school" in a sense.

I'm a demonstrator for The Angel Company, a Christian based rubber stamp company. TAC produces exclusive unmounted stamps that are very reasonably priced. I try to use a lot of their stamps in my work so as to promote their products and my business with them. This is not to say that I work exclusively with TAC stamps. No, I have a MASSIVE collection of rubber stamps and I would never think to stop using and purchasing stamps from other manufacturers. Heck, I'm even jumping in on desgning my own stamp line. I am keeping a sketchbook with all my drawings and will be compiling a page to send to the manufacturer soon. I can't wait to create artwork with MY OWN professional stamps!

So what have I been working on lately?

Well, I really enjoy dabbling in everything stamping related. I primarily work on making cards. Maybe it is because of the pleasure in knowing I can create something to share with others in a short period of time.

I created the clover card (Hero Arts background square, TAC March 07 incentive set-clover, Versamagic chalk ink-pesto) just the other day. It was fun playing with the KISS and TWIST technique. The technique can be found all over the internet as well as Paper Crafts Magazine Feb, 2007 issue. This technique was also a challenge on my one and only favorite stamping forum: The stamp shack http://www.stamp-shack.com. I post a lot of my work in its gallery.

Valentine's Day was just around the corner and stampers were challenged to alter a chocolate tin. This challenge gave me the opportunity to use a Trader Joe's truffle tin that I rescued from almost discard at school.

So here it is...It was about to be tossed in the trash when I happened to spy the cool oval shaped tin. I quickly grabbed this treasure and took it home. What a perfect container for some chocolates, some ribbon, or maybe even a handmade album. I just grabbed some pp from my stash, some ribbons, a stamped image and such and voila... It's done.
